The funny thing, the IPD slider was on Oculus Quest 1, and the headstrap was a silicone strap that wrapped around the bottom and top back of your head, to the sides and over the top.

Absolutely. Having now my Quest for close to a year, what has amazed me about the headset has been all the software improvements that Meta has released since owning the unit. On an almost monthly basis, Meta has released additions and improvements of the system consistently. Far more than I could have ever expected.

Those still enamoured with the current content available, the Quest 3 is a really good headset (once you spend some extra cash on accessories). For those of us who think theVR games are as deep and complex as your average roblox game, a new upgraded headset won't make a lick of difference

Mhm. It’s like upgrading from a PS4 to a PS5. You generally won’t need to if your previous console is working fine, but you may miss out on some exclusives

@@a_random_n3rdvr So I have a Rift CV1 for PCVR and a PSVR for, well... PS4 🙃. As now the PSVR2 has the PC adapter (though I still don't own a PS5), I'm still contemplating whether I should go for a PSVR2 or a Quest 3. For me, being wired isn't a issue. I hear great things about the pancake lenses, but I don't know about the LCD screen and their greyish blacks. With PSVR2, you've got nice blacks and colors with the OLED, but you're stuck with the Fresnell lenses. So basically, I don't know what to get, as I have to be budget conscience. Btw, very funny and entertaining way of reviewing. Liked it.

If we’re talking value-wise, the Quest 3 has more access to games thanks to Meta’s store, app lab, and PCVR while the PSVR2 can only hook up to a PS5 (which is another couple hundred bucks), and PCVR with some tinkering. The Quest 3 is by far a better product from a consumer standpoint. I can’t speak for the quality of the PSVR 2 as I don’t own one, but you most likely will get more bang for your buck with a Quest 3 than a PSVR2.

going from an oled display in the quest 1 to an lcd display in the quest 3 was quite a shock for me, i hated it so much i sold it and went back to my also half broken quest 1.

@@DeterminationV5 the quest 1 is 1440x1600 i bought a psvr2 but its lenses add a slight blur to everything in order to get rid of the screen door effect, this annoyed me. especially when in order to get good framerates and reduce stuttering i had to lower the render resolution a bit, this made the image look on par with my quest 1 despite still rendering at a much higher resolution than it. the screen door effect on the quest 1 doesnt bother me that much the adapter box is light and got dragged around a lot (not an issue for most, an issue for me), i didnt like the grip buttons on the controllers, i didnt like the fact that it cracked the shits any time a controller was off while the headset was on, going black and telling me to take the headset off instead of just not doing that. ended up selling that too. currently using a quest pro whos displays are a tolerable medium between oled and the lcd on the quest 3 while also having pancake lenses. the self tracking controllers are nice and the eye tracking might eventually mean i can use dynamic foveated encoding to focus all the quality right where im looking instead of having to spread it out throughout the entire frame or having fixed foveated rendering around the frame. that last one is a maybe though, the alvr devs have said sometime next year.

​@@DeterminationV5 wow, it seems my comment got deleted, thanks youtube. i didnt realise i valued contrast so much until i used the quest 3. i did actually buy a psvr2 almost right after i sold my quest 3, i didnt like it either. its not a bad headset there are just specific things i dont like, these things made it not worth the cost for me, compared to what i already had and therefore i didnt like it. the lenses were made in a way that adds a slight blur to everything in order to get rid of the screen door effect, it does this well but it does slightly blur everything. this was a bigger issue due to the fact that i wasnt able to run it at its full resolution and get good framerates, at full res it looked really good but i had to reduce it a bit and despite running at around 40% higher render resolution than i ran my quest 1 at, it looked pretty close to my quest 1 with this reduced resolution. i didnt like the grip buttons on its controllers, i didnt like adapter box being so small and light, it didnt take much effort for the cables moving to yank it from wherever i put it and fall onto the ground. the software was very meh and i had head tracking issues, sometimes my head would drift up and to either side, eventually resetting back to the actual position. this was especially annoying in flight sims, probably an issue with the room im in but an issue nonetheless. controller tracking was pretty good, i didnt have any issues with that. im currently using a quest pro, its displays are a tolerable middle ground between oled and lcds like the ones in the quest 3. its got pretty decent contrast (nothing like oled though) and pancake lenses. its self tracking controllers are very nice (when they work, ive heard lots of people complain about firmware updates bricking them) and i hope that the eye tracking will eventually (alvr devs said next year) allow for dynamic foveated encoding, which means that most of the bitrate is focused where you are looking, allowing for a higher quality image in that area (if the eye tracking doesnt break due to poor placement right next to the air intakes that take in moist air from right above your mouth as you breath in and out, possibly also sweat from the headband leaking into the chassis, breaking the ir leds). to be clear, i dont think the quest 3 is a bad headset, its just very very weak in one specific area that i find a deal breaker.

also, don't use those chemical wipes for glasses either. I wiped off my anti-glare coating on my lenses. It's really only mostly noticeable in mixed reality tho.

Having a Quest 2 and actually enjoy it for almost 3 years but the lack of many decent softwares is what hindered it for me. Quest 3 have better hardware and with awesome techs built inside in one package but it needs more softwares to improve

just to clarify the old version of TWD S&S was the quest 1 version of the game so it transitioned 2 generations. the quest 3 has been perfect for me besides the facial interface adjustment mechanism breaking and the IPD slider is stiff

For fixing "Stick Drift" I actually recommend CRC Power Lube. It displaces moisture like contact cleaner, but it will also provide a lubricant residue that will prevent it from happening again. Drift happens from the rings of conductive surface material flaking and shorting a position on the sensor. Contact cleaner can dry things out and make the ring material brittle and potentially flake again.

ex-Index owner here and I gotta say the Quest 3 rocks... visuals are great and yeah, the passthrough ain't totally crisp (cost, power) but, the MR games/experiences are an absolute blast and the depth sensing is most excellent for this. Never had so much fun in VR if I'm gonna be honest...

You get 3 more in-between IPD settings by using the glasses spacer. Even if you don't wear glasses, the focal distance offsets the 3 IPD notches to new numbers that may be more comfortable, as was the case with my oddly shaped head.

So I bought a used quest 3, waited about a week for it to come in, and was super excited to try it out when I got home. So, I take it out of the box and exhumed it from it's bubble wrap burial, put it on, and was immediately impressed with the passthrough, even in my low light environment. I was then extremely annoyed at the "please connect your controllers" setup. I had bought the headset by itself, thinking I would just get the controllers later because for the time being, just wanted to use it for things like youtube. I'm not sure why, but it never occurred to me that the controllers would not only a mandatory part of the setup, but also the first _first_ part of the setup. I guess I just figured with how much I've heard about the hand tracking being as good as it is, I just figured the controllers were optional. So I get to look at the the headset on my desk for the next potentially week or two until the controllers come in.

Got mine on release. All I have a few more dead pixels, and right controller keep gets drift. But I still love it. Especially with Bobo headstrap, and using QGO. with black level enhancer, in experimental, and contrast level boost, in accessibility, games look amazing

Used to have a Reverb G2 and sold it last year after rumors of WMR shutting down. Looking to get back into pcvr and for my budget, the quest 3 seems to still be the best bang for my buck. I’m sure I’ll use standalone but mainly just want to use it to sim race. pimax crystal light was also on my list but I just can’t justify nearly twice the price.

Truth: Joystick drift comes, goes away , comes back, vr crashes while playing gorrila tag and yeeps hide and seek, ipd slider breaks my nail and does not move, no tracking rings = terrible tracking. That’s it luckily

In my very unprofessional opinion, the quest 3 was my 1st move into vr and i love it, my pc aint too qaulity, but i can stream my steam games well and i really enjoy the vr games iv purched over the year of having it, the battarie for me aint bad because i work most of day so i only play for 2 hours a night 😂 i love it but it my 1st and only headset

Hey i learned a lot from this video but i have some questions i am wearing glasses that 14 cm width can it fits in meta quest 3? And by the way i am farsight myopic so will it effects my meta quest 3 display because the screen is right in front of my eyes so i thought i may not need to wear glasses or prescription glasses which is kinda expensive for me to buy

@@Hiro-to6ym I totally forgot to mention this. The face pad has multiple distance settings which allows for space for glasses. It will take some testing but you should be able to find enough space to fit your glasses. If you don’t, I think there are prescription lenses available but I’m not sure.

Loved the video! I have tried both the Q3 and the Q3S and can confidently say that the Q3S is the way to go UNLESS you really want 4k graphics and a headphone jack. I also have never gotten a better headstrap then the default one and have never really seen the need.

@@space_goat_v1337 Challenge accepted. So Synth Riders as you can tell from the gameplay uses balls instead of cubes. Synth riders IMO has more interesting rhythm mechanics than beat saber. There’s tracks you can slide on for more points, Yellow balls require both controllers to touch the ball for it count, and a few more cooler ways to combo. The base songs don’t suck. The licensed songs are pretty good. Synth Riders doesn’t tire me out nearly as fast, even on higher difficulties, meaning I can play more of it. Mixed reality Much like beat saber, custom songs AND arenas can be modded into it. AND unlike beat saber, there’s crossbuy between PC and Quest so you don’t have to only choose one platform. Hope this convinces you

quest 3 is so good now with all these updates since launch. you can connect any hdmi video player/streamer like a firestick or xbox/ps5, contractors VR everyday...free airsoft games lol in call of duty maps is the best. get the bhaptics arms to feel the recoil of every gun, and the vest to feel bullets hitting you. buy the quest pro controllers (tip for tracking problems - increase lighting around your play area, at quest pro controller level. you can turn on a led screen like a phone in front of controllers}. buy a 100 watt powerbank that can charge 100watts. finally get quest optimizer, set cpu and gpu to ultra and refresh rate at 120.

A you lol got me.. the "honest review" was not there. He being very misleading. Well there are those on KZbin that show you the best they can what you will see and it NEVER looks like what this guy says in game. So this PC gaming.. ask can I play PC games and charge at the same time like Facebook/Meta said I could for a few years on the Quest 2. Do I need to get a different cable to plug into the wall and pc so it does not drain as fast? You do notice all the OTHER VR headsets he talks about right? HP or STEAM or PICO? If its doing so good why was $650 dropped to $450? You notice these "reviewers" don't say a word other them what a great BUY! its like and you can search and watch them talk about when the Quest 2 was out for what over a year and then the price jumped up a $100? What did most of those reviewers say? OMG its still a great buy! What? You stay away form those channels. Those are just KISS KISS META I want free stuff. Fact.. META VR is not doing good. Those QUEST 3 are still not selling that much at all. Again VR is not dead but there is no huge demand any more thus the lack of other companies putting out more VR headsets. How many videos did you watch over the years of all those NEW VR headsets coming out? Well.. years later where are they? One did and it was about $1000 and those KISS UP reviewers told how GOOD it was but.. yeah... told you all the BAD and OMG QUEST 3 is the best there is! Just BUY it and test it your self NEVER go by what some youtuber says. So many just kiss up to Meta.. they could careless about you.
