To help you out with positions. The number on the back of the jersey is attached to the position. No random numbers are given. 1 & 3 - Props (heaviest/biggest guys) 2 - Hooker (the glue between props) 4 & 5 - Locks (tallest players) 6 & 7 - Flankers (loves tackling) 8 - eighthman (great ball carrier) 9 - scrumhalf (shortest/best passer) 10 - Flyhalf (decision maker) 11 & 14 - Wingers (Fastest) 12 & 13 - Centres (technically gifted) 15 - Fullback (last line of defence)

The problem with NFL is, if someone gets tackled the tackler celebrates as if he is the king of the world. Rugby, you tackle someone as hard as possible, get up, run and try to do it again, and then get up and do it again. Or, you get tackled, pass the ball, you receive it again somewhere, get tackled again, get up and play. NFL is more like the WWE.

2:16 all three has a normal position as scrum halves. But, Springboks has the type of team who you can rotate and play them out of position and STILL come away with a win. Also, scrum halves are the smallest guys on any team

Scrum half is a position, wears the no.9 jersey. Plays behind the scrum as link between forwards and backs. Forwards are on the scrum, backs line up to receive and run the ball. Teams only have 1 Scrumhalf at a time but South Africa wanted to give all their scrum halves game time in case they get called on in a big match during knockouts. So they played 3 scrum halves in that game at the same time. The actual 9 passed to another 9 who passed to another 9 who scored. So they basically had a 9 playing at 9; a 9 playing as a 10 (flyhalf - kicks and Marshall’s your game plan) and a 9 playing 14 (wingers, fastest guys on the field, get the ball and race away like a sprinter).

In the game v Romania Rassie erasmus and Jacques nienaber used 4 scrum half that his nr 9 in the game. 1 started the game at 9 and off the bench a closer. 1 on fly half nr 10 and 1 on the outside wing nr 14. That is why it sound so confusing

All those drop goals attempt were planned to get them closer to 22. Even Kolbe's at the end for me there were 3 players of the world cup. Eben, PSDT and Kwagga look there is just no one that can Jackle a ball like Kwagga yes ''brannas'' aka Deon fourie but Kwagga class of his own. Like rumors that is going around Kwagga is replacing Dwayne. You can also know when you see Eben and RG together on the pitch you will loose a shirt😂😂😂. The reason why our scrums and molls are so dominant is because we know how to bully at the right time and place. That is why they say we are the most feared team because we intimate and bully

Kicking the ball away is a strategy to force the opposition back into there half and then force them to make mistakes. Once you awarded a freekick you could get easy points.

the scrum half thing is really just because all 3 players involved in that play actually play scrum half but werre played out of position against romania cause we can. Basically 21 - the guy actually playing scrum half (the dude who connects all the guys hugging each other to the ones social distancing) passes to FAF - SA's first choice scrum half but who was playing 10 (fly half the playmaker) who gives it up to Gran Williams who is also a scrummie but was playing on the wing in this game cause he's proper rapid and was used as a utility back so needed to get some experience playing the playbook at wing... and you can do that against romania cause in rugby there is a very definite drop off in skills, conditioning and natural talent as you drop down the rankings.

Okay the scrum half the 14 and 21 and 9 all these guys positions are scrum half meaning whenever that huddle formation is happening they toss the ball. However this time they were 14 was on offensive position accompanied by 9 so 21 was tossing the ball that’s how it goes Scrum half to scrum half to scrum half and try. I hope this helps.❤

They were dominated by England for most of the game and scraped a win. They deserved it, but for most of the game they looked very poor.

you don't have to kick it but kicking can move you up the field a ton even if it gives away possession. you want to always be playing in your opponents half and SA tackle so hard that they try to strangle your possession so you just running nowhere with the ball and will eventualy make a mistake and give it up. It also eats up time cause all the big lads have to trundle off to the nexto point of contact.. and if you do manage to regather your own kick you will often score....

While I do feel that South Africa absolutely deserved the win, calling them dominating it's just factually not true, it was the closest margin of winning probably in the history of the world cups, they lost to Ireland in the first round, and they won game after game for 1 point difference, 1 single point in the quarter finals, semi finals and final game, and I know that a win it's a win, but dominating? Not even close.

Sir, take it all into account. Never forget the unbelievable amount of effort needed from the Boks to win it all. The worst path to the win! They played every single team in the Top 6 apart from themselves! New Zealand, England, Ireland, France, Scotland… They were also strategic about early losses. See how easily Ireland dropped out early yet again, they went way too hard too soon. The pool stages are literally just to make it through, not tire the team out… If you consider that, they dominated in strategy for sure, and they damn sure persevered!

@@jamielee240292 Being dominant means you face all those teams, win all or almost all games by more than 2 tries, that's being dominant, anything else and it's still a win, the Springboks are still amazing, still the best team in the competition, but just not dominant, they won by 1 point against the all blacks with 14 man, that's the absolute opposite to being dominant.

There are no "designated" kickers or anything else in rugby. (apart from front-row forwards, props and hookers, must be trained and and conditioned for the role). Any player can be nominated to kick during a game, but of course the choice falls on the known, reliable kickers.

Hardly dominated, they lost one group game to start with and won the quarter, semi and final by one point in each game. Well done to them and congratulations, however any of those games could have gone the other. Another case of a misleading headline to grab attention with highlights showing the Springbok when they could have shown when they were scored against etc. and called it “the Springbok being dominated “. The sports are similar mainly because American Football derived directly from rugby.

Comment reeks of cope. Winning by one point 3 games in a row against the very best is dominant especially considering how they went about it. We were losing to England the whole game and still managed to dig deep and dominate the scrum when it mattered. A team can even lose, badly and still be dominant in certain areas of the game. Look no further than how Tonga gave us an up hill battle even though we won by putting more than 50 on them. I have yet to see a single video about how the Boks were dominated at the world cup. Must be because they weren't. Maybe by Ireland in some instances , which was also a close game. Why are you implying Ireland dominated SA in a close game but SA didn't in their close matches? Flawed mentality.

@markdanielleanderson4323 Why is any comment not praising the Springbok to the hilt lambasted by South African supporters? I am full of admiration for the team's doggedness, perseverance, skill and use of the laws to their best advantage. I didn't say that they were dominated at the World Cup, and they were not. But a video could be put together, as was this one, which could have given the impression that they were. Of course, I suppose that winning anything is by definition domination, but the inference in the title is that they had no opposition and overwhelmed the other team's without any competition. Winning three games by one point disproves that. Let's congratulate them and applaud their win, but please don't let video headlines mistell the facts.

There are a LOT of people discrediting the Springboks for what they achieved. The French in particular. So initially your comment did come across as distasteful but I 100% understand what you mean by the title. But its all about clicks and views so who can blame them lol. Springboks won the tournament but they didn’t dominate nothing. Ireland beat them, they scraped past France and beat NZ by a single point in the final when NZ had their captain sent off in the first half. They dominated nothing and the first highlights is against Ireland who beat them
