tried using this on the latest shadps4 some time ago. I got an insane frame boost but the game was running in slow motion. that was using an older version of lossless scaling though, I'll use a newer version and swe what happens eventually

You should really lock your framerate with rivatuner or something to the highest fps you know you can consistently hit since the program is meant to be used at a consistent framerate, it's gonna feel and look way way worse having it uncapped and all over the place like this with such wild frametimes. And use a multiplier where the end result is the framerate cap of your display, so x2 60fps for a 120hz display, or ideally the end result after framegen being 3-4fps below your max display hz for better input lag if you have g-sync. I understand this is just a showcase but if someone wants to try the program for themselves. There are visual bugs for sure, but it's a definite improvement over 60fps until the emulator can reach higher frames natively.

@@randomguy36j98 It doesn't specifically lock the frame generated frames since rivatuner doesn't know about those, but if you lock the real frames it will effectively do that yeah since it won't generate more fake frames than the multiplier you set it to in lossless scaling at that point. You lock the frames before you apply any frame generation, which i would suggest you do in any game anyway to the max framerate that you consistently hit since it will make games much smoother and usually with much less stuttering which you can see first hand in the frametime graph in the rivatuner overlay as well. But it's even more important when you do frame generation, i'd even say a basic requirement with frame generation

@@randomguy36j98 Yeah you can lock the framerate in the nvidia control panel, it's just that rivatuner has generally been agreed to do a better job at it. But if you use "max frame rate" option in the nvidia control panel for the shadps4 program it should do the job well enough yes. Also you need to install the 60fps patch of course if you lock it to 60fps, or unlock the framerate in shadps4 if you lock it higher. The game needs to be actually outputting the framerate you are locking it to

As an avid LLS user, I can assure you that if your base frame rate is anything higher than 36 (or even 36), it is barely noticeable (and believe me, I do notice input lag fluctuations). Past 48, basically unnoticeable. And this goes for X2 and X3, I've never used X4 but it's probably close.

It is noticeable only if you switch between on and off rapidly, you can feel it but if you are getting 60fps it's gonna feel very good, playing Elden Ring like this since it's locked to 60 fps is a blessing, feels really really good

lls is goated and only like 5 bucks dude just try it. I feel like im pretty keen when it comes to being able to notice stuff like input lag but if you have your game capped to a consistent framerate then use lss then you really cant tell.

It's pretty fucking noticeable if you're trying no hit😂 but ShadPS4 already has added input lag by default anyway. Not to mention, the nature of souls games that their dodge is bind to run button, adding more latency by around 7 ms.

@@Leonardo-rj8ec ShadPS4 before you launch the game, lock to 60, launch the game, launch LSFG as ADMlN, you probably don't need the upscaling so disable that from LSFG (because upscaling together with Frame Generation has insane input Lag), and then select the desired Frame Generation multiplier. Even with RTX 4070, you either want Upscaling only, or Frame Generation only. Not advised to use both because of input Lag. Unless you're using LSFG for watching movies, then yes, you can use upscaling and Frame Generation together.

As for being "completely" finished, impossible to say. It is however, pretty much 1 to 1 on par with the original PS version in most aspects, in some it's superior. You can play the game from start to finish already, even with a mid range PC.

My PC is RX 480 4GB VRAM, 16 GB DDR4 and i7 6700. I can currently run it between 20 - 50 fps. With the latest updates I get usual crashes and some bugs. I think is matter of weeks that low end PCs will run BB perfectly at 30fps stables

Nvidia RTX 4080 Super 16GB VRAM, 64GB DDR4 and AMD 7900x3d. I can play it with 60 fps smoothly but I get a lot of crashes. In some areas it's unplayable because it always crashes. Played it 6 hours and got around 15 crashes. Otherwise its nice.

Set Vblank divider to 1, disable Vsync, use 30fps patch and use either 720p or 900p patch. Also, I'm using Diego's latest Full-BB build.

Ignore comment above, you should be able to run the game at 1080p and 60 fps. Are you using Diego's build? I heard it "introduced" a lot of stuttering issues lately. However, it feels better last couple of days. If the newest build still gives you a lot of trouble try the one from December 29th (last one before the issue appeared) or switch to main build.

If not, doesn't hurt to try lowballing the settings to see if the game runs without stuttering, no? I could run the game at higher settings, but after a while, my cooling fans get almost as obnoxious as Sony fans.

@solid_snek Well, I should have said it in a different way. I will give you that. However, do you have a similar build like him? I do. And I could run the game mostly at 1080p 60 fps like two months ago (by using no cloth physics mod for better performance). Now, I have similar or better performance without using said mod. So, given that and rumors about new builds causing problems (which I mentioned above) it's unlikely that issues are caused by hardware limitations. But, of course, he can try using lower fps/resolution options. I would just try many other things before that.
