Gamma X-ELS X-Stringer 2022 machine

It doesn't look like the new tension head will be used on the progression, at least not on the latest version as of April 2024. Just guessing from looking at images but It may be too large to fit on the more compact moulded body of the progression vs the flat rails on the X series.which would allow more flexibility in positioning?

i upgraded my clamp bases to the cam lock style...HUGE improvement. thanks Herb

Hi Ralph.. just curious how did you get them? It doesn't look like Gamma, or anywhere else has the cam lock style clamp bases for sale at least right now. I have an ELS with the standard clamp bases (quick action?), same as shown here.

The drawers are dead simple to pull out when you grab from underneath (took me a minute too). Even easier to get at if the machine is on a stand or has the table feet attached to give you room enough to get your finger under the unit.

I do not think having the linear pull is worth $600. The machines are basically the same with that one difference.

Normally I measure 9 racquet lengths for the mains and 8 for the crosses (16x19) but with this tensioner I find I have to go up half a racquet length if I don’t want to use a starting clamp bridge on the last pull. My only complaint about the machine is it takes 2’ of extra string for the winding tensioner. Do you find that to be true compared to a linear unit (XLT for example)?

I find the same thing. Takes about 2 feet for a 2 piece, and 1 foot for a 1 piece.

I honestly don't know. The inly one I have ever used is the Gamma.
