Thank you for this splendid survey of one of the great, one of the greatest visual geniuses of 20th century art. The world of art went mad in the 20th century. Miraculously real art survived in such figures as William Orpen. The Gammell Lack Institute is playing a major role in the survival and revival of true art. Long may you flourish!

My God. Truly captured the Grit & Grace of the human condition in his portraits & still's. To be able to capture the very soul, the attitude & nature of the subject through & around the eyes like that with paint.... incredible. This guy certainly knew how to read people, absolute genius, one I was totally unfamiliar with.... Thanks again GLI. Superbly presented & narrated.

No doubt a vey talented artist. That said, I find his work to be very inconsistent. Great financial success is not necessarily the mark of great artistic merit. To each his own.
