So this was my experience after the first day of owning and shooting the Gamo swarm Bone collector Gen 3. But first I am no stranger to shooting break barrel air rifles and I prefer them over PCP air rifle but I do own PCP air rifles as well. I currently own 8 break barrel air rifles from Gamo varmit hunter.22, benjamin trail NP .22, Weichrach HW50.177 Weichrach HW77k, Beeman R7, crossman TR77-.177, Hatsan 95 .25 and this current gun the Gamo boncollector gen 3. and have been shooting them steady now for over 15yrs. Now with that being said here is my day of shooting with this specific gun. First my scope was crap and kept backing off the 3x9 power magnification that I had set on 6 power after every shot so by the time i shot one magazine it was back down to 3 power. I wish gamo would just put a hawk 3x9x40 mildot or even a utg 3x9x40 mildot with these as it would be worth the little extra cost. Also the one piece scope ring set up came loose as well after tighting it up and all the other screws after taking it out of the box. So pulled that scope off and put a 3x9x40 AO center point on there and solved that problem. then as for pellets I tried the JSB 15.89 and the JSB 18.13 pellets today and the JSB15,89 pellets did not do well I got better results from the 18.13 pellets. I plan on testing the predator poly mags.16grain and the JSB hades and the crossman premier domes tommorrow and see how they do, The JSB 18.13 pellets did ok but the consistency Just did not seem to be there at 30yrds for me as I would like. As I would shoot one 5 shot group that would not be to bad and then the next I would get 2 or 3 good shots and then all over the place. I checked all my screws to make sure things were staying tight checked the scope it seems to be fine and then I would got to shooting steel animal tagets from 15 to 35 yrds and have no problem hitting the kill zone. GO back to the paper and still not shooting as tight as I would like and get some crazy fliers one in awhile. I was to do a little back yard pest control in the process taking out 2 pest at 15yrds and 20yrds with no problems but still not getting the confidence I would like out at 3oyrds on paper? Maybe I am a little spoiled from shooting my Weichrach guns but I do shoot my other ones a lot as well and know what to expect from a gun like this. this is a 30 to 35yrd gun in my opinion and Ironically I have had no problems hitting my 30 and 35yrd metal targets but once I go back to the paper it is not as consistent as I feel it should be. Honestly it was just a weird day of shooting and trying to figure the gun out. Ended out the day just shooting my steel targets and ran the gauntlet very well with only a couple missed shots out of about 30 targets all from 15yrds to 35yrds and funny enough it was to short shots that I pulled and not any long shots. So I guess only time will tell how this will go as the gun settles in and I find a good pellet for it that it really likes. I do really like this gun and the fit and finish is great and I love the 10rd mag set up funny enough I did keep reaching for my tin every once in awhile to try and load a pellet still lol! Anyway that is my take so far on this gun I do think it will be a good gun it is a little hold sensitive as well but I think once I get things figured out on it hopefully it will be all that I hoped it would be.

Nice review, what has changed if anything a year later?
@BravoBassin6 күн бұрын
@@chapter4travels Ao after owning the bone collecter for awhile now it has settled in nicely still sensitive on the hold but shooting good groups at 25 and 30yds. it is not compitition gun but definitely a good small game hunter and back yard pest eleminator for sure. I am getting solid 1 inch groups at 25yds and 30yds with a slight flyer once in awhile but it has broken in nicely. I would recomensd this air rifle to anyone that is interested in a gamo air rifle. I do have a full video up on my channel full reivew and shooting if yo have not seen i yet. As far as my gamo air rifles it is one of my favorites now.

Got my bone collector last week and I really love this rifle. It shoots really good. Been comparing it to the emerge by UMREX Which our own one of those two, and I upgraded the scope on The emerge rifle 22 caliber for Both rifles. The gamma scope is finally not like it, and it shoots really good. It leaves ripples of shockwaves in cans. I shoot that’s amazing. The emerge the same . The benefit of the GAMO “Bone Collector” In 22 caliber is it hits hard and it’s lighter than the Usmerex Emerge. I will carry the Bone Collector With me when it’s a hot that is long distance since I’m missing my left leg below knee will be easier the hike with it. Beautiful I love it. Hope you guys have a beautiful day.

Hey Rick, Thanks for the great video. Do the Gen 3i Bone Collector magazines fit in the Gen 2 or Gen 3i Magnums? Thanks again. Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.

At least they gave us something with a decent looking wood stock. So sick of the plastic guns, they look like a ray gun out of a sci fi movie. This is the right move.

Do any of the Gamo air pistons allow for adding or subtracting Bar level in the air pistons? I believe a few of my higher powered Hatsans had the ability to go from the 250bar max down to a very controlled level of pressure making them less hold sensitive. Yes, there was a reduction in power, but they became more hold friendly. One could also add air above their 250bar max to give a slight gain in power. But a really large loss of control ability. After alot of people get the magnum novelty out of there system they realize what they are hunting with their particular gun and the average distance they are shooting and realize half the power and utilizing mil-dots gets the same job done. Plus, far less wear and tear on the guns. Anways, my ideal new Gamo would be the fixed barrel Accu .22, 20 and .177. It would have the same 33mm tube and IGT Mach 1 air piston, however instead of coming charged to the max (not sure what the IGT is charged to) it would be charged to whatever delivers around 14fpe. And as the shooter progressed and maybe wanted more power could charge the piston to full power if they wanted with a handheld pump similar to what came with my Beeman RX2 or Beeman Crow Magnum....

Do you know if you can swap the stocks on the Gamo break barrels? I love my Magnum gen3i for the extra punch, but I really like that would stock look and feet of the Bone collector. If I could swap that wooden stock onto my Magnum, I feel I’d have the perfect break barrel for me.

I'm new to air guns and just bought a Gamo Swarm Viper gen 3i but damn this bone collector looks nice and with more power... should I return it and get this one?!
@mitchellmiller7717 Жыл бұрын
I am new to air gunning so I'm not sure what the answer to this question is. Some say not to and others say it's ok to do. What exactly is dieseling and will it hurt my brand new Gamo magnum pro Gen 3I ?
@AirGunWeb Жыл бұрын
Hey there. Dieseling is when the pressure and heat in the compression chamber causes oils or an accelerant to explode. New guns will sometimes diesel as they are working out any left over manufacturing lubricants. That’s ok. What’s not ok is adding a combustible, i.e. like WD40, into the compression chamber to make the gun shoot harder. That will damage your gun. Hope that helps. Cheer AGW

No iron sights? Literally anything happens to your scope during a hunt and you won’t be collecting any bones and going home. Maybe if you sneak up on it and fire point blank? Hope you’re sneaky. 😜 I only buy gamos with backup iron sights and many I haven’t ended up scoping or even needed to. These days, you can only get iron sights on few select gamo exclusive website models. They probably won’t be offering them like that much longer and that will be the end of my relationship with Gamo. They decided to give up the best feature of their product for the sake of a repeating magazine that not many wanted. 😢

I have a gen3 bone collector and a gen2 maxxim, both work great for pesting and varmit control on our property. But you can definately feel the difference between the two, the bone collector wacks critters pretty hard. I have had good results shooting jsb hades pellets.

Still has a plastic trigger, plastic safety, plastic breech block, and the part that locks the barrel is plastic. Still gamo junk. I have 3 gamos and they are all the same. In the mean time I have much cheaper rifles like my f4, 125, and Shockwave that have steel for all those parts. I'm seeing more and more videos showing those parts wearing out. Even saw a cracked breech block on a gamo. Never see that with all steel parts, and all 3 of my cheaper rifles have taken the same game as my gamos. There's some fact not fluff for ya.
