The second stage needs a $0.34 screw from most hardware stores. One air gun seller offers this screw for $10. Either way, it's adjustable with the tiniest bit of effort. The screw is a 2.5mmx10mm 0.45 pitch.

Would love to see them make a break barrel with a BSA Hammer forged barrel

While I do PCP's for the most part, this rifle looks VERY sweet! Filling airtanks with sweat or electricity VS 100% power with one break. This is why there will always be a market for this style.

I truly hope and talk to "The Creator" often that you will continue to do your thing for years to come. You, Andy (AAR) and that wacky other Brit guy who made 'Airgun 101' happen are INDISPENSABLE for folks wanting to know THE REAL STUFF, NOT THE FLUFF. Naturally, I highly value Angie and her testing of ammo, and then there is also Ted's Holdover, and way more to mention here. But YOU, Andy and ... GILES? (AirgunGearShow and Airgun 101) are who I depend on for TRUTH! Thank you for what you do. ✨🤗✨

I really like this air rifle. After group testing several pellets. Mine actually shoots the PBA Platinums better then the Red Fires. I was surprised, but each barrel likes alittle different sometimes. Great break barrel from Gamo. My new go to hunter for sure.

First break barrel I owned was way back in the early 90s, it was made in spain and I think it was the same as gamo. I knew nothing about hold and how finicky break barrel rifles were. I shot this gun great and took a lot of squirrels and rabbits, ........then I learned I was doing it all wrong and could never shoot a break barrel again. I was always thinking of my form always and stayed suck at shooting. May try again. Thanks Rick

Hey Rick, Thanks again for the great video. Please suggest to Gamo to stop bundling ammo that isn't accurate and scopes that are not tough enough or appropriate for this gun and hunting applications. Recommend to Gamo to replace these items with products that we will actually use like an extra magazine, sling, gun travel case or sleeve, or a bipod. More importantly, recommend that they add backup iron sights to all their models, for those of us older folks. Thanks again. Stay Safe, Be Well, God Bless.

Have to say? Break barrel and PCP ,apples and oranges. The best break barrel up to 35 Yard's maybe 40 . Walther terrus. Now I've never been into gamo air products but, the Gamo coyote whisper is amazing for a starter PCP. Still as a break barrel... Walther hands down is one of the best for 35 to 40..45 Yard's.

I plan to buy a Gamo x10 (Swarm) rifle in the near future. I have been leaning towards the Maxxium Gen 2 model, only because I don’t like the length or weight of the Magnum. I haven’t seen anyone else review the Bone Collector before, but I was impressed with it. I want a gun for some target shooting, but also varmint control. Can you compare the Maxxium and the Bone Collector and give me you opinion.

I'm confused, I just purchased a Gamo Bone Collector Gen II and in the manual it specifically states that you can adjust the length of both the first and second stage trigger pull independently. BTW, replacing the stock trigger screw which is 3x6mm with a longer screw of about 8.3mm will make the trigger break nice and crisp. I love my Gamo Bone Collector Gen II!
@AirGunWeb
@AirGunWeb 3 жыл бұрын
There are adjustments for both.. But.. the trigger comes as good as it can be. You can make the 2nd stage longer, but not shorter. cheers AGW

You are correct Inspector. There is a small Allen screw for 1st stage and a black Philips screw for second stage. I have the standard Maxxim in .177 and Mach 1's in .177 and .22 caliber. All three are identical trigger wise. My local Ace Hardware, just two blocks away, had the screws. All three were less than a buck. My goodness, the difference a dollar can make in three guns. I'm not sure why Expert Reviewer dodged this point. Maybe, since he's Gamo sponsored, he can't recommend mods to the gun. Anyways, you're right and he's seemingly purposefully wrong.

My Swarm Maxim loves the plated Field Target Trophy H&N .22. 32yds gives 1/2-5/8" group for 10 shots. If I do my part. Trigger is the best I have ever shot in break barrel gun. Owned Beeman R1 with rekord trigger. Never as good as my Swarm trigger

Great review Rick! The BSA Outlook 3-9X40AO with mil*dots scope works fantastic on my Gamo BC Gen II! It's the perfect match and on sale for $70. Be a DETECTIVE and look at other AIRGUN reviews of this rifle to find this trigger mod screw kit! Now to find the best pellets! I wish the Gamo TS-22 pellets were tried? Maybe AA will?
@AirGunWeb
@AirGunWeb 3 жыл бұрын
On the screw mod. The way it works is by reducing the sear engagement. This could very easily put the gun in an unsafe condition where a bump could cause the gun to fire. It’s not something I would recommend. Cheers AGW

It’s the “properly installed” part that’s the concern. Little Johnny makes a hair trigger and shoots himself in the foot or God forbid his buddy, that’s 100% on little Johnny but they will still go after Gamo and anyone that gave little Johnny the idea to mod the gun. This is not assumption, this has already happened. I won’t touch that hornets nest with a 10’ pole. When people take things out of manufacturer apec and then promote doing so, they invite a lot of problems. Swapping parts like with the JSAR gear, that’s different because your a changing out entire systems. I know people will not agree with my perspective and that’s okay with me. It’s how I’ve chosen to run things on my end. Cheers AGW

@@AirGunWeb totally agree but when my BC gen II would only factory adjust to a 4.4 lbs. trigger. This 40 y firearms professional adjusts it to 1 10oz. to provide improved human accuracy at 30 yards.
@AirGunWeb
@AirGunWeb 3 жыл бұрын
@@gmanneod8085 Ok. so here's the problem. I'm not at all in dispute of the fact that shortening the 2nd stage, i.e. reducing the seer engagement, will most certainly help improve a shooter's ability to shoot the gun more accurately. that's not the point. My point is simply this.. Are you, personally, as the person advocating the modification, willing to put your name, future, and wallet on the line should some 13-year-old kid try this and get hurt or hurt someone else? The probability of taking the adjustment too far is certainly there in spades. My guess is probably no. You, being a 40 year firearms professional, would probably NOT recommend that just anyone go try and be a gunsmith. But that's exactly what people are doing by promoting this kind of modification. They tout all the benefits, but should something happen, how many are going to be there to stand and take responsibility for their own advice? That's my point. On another note.. there is no adjustment for pull weight on any of the Gamo SAT triggers.. Only to adjust the position of the 1st and 2nd stages. In actuality, the first "stage" is not a stage at all, but merely a spring take up until you begin to move the seer, which they call the 2nd stage. This was "fixed" back in the day with the GTR or GTX (depending on where you got it) aftermarket triggers. They created different geometry so that the first stage was actually doing something to prep for the crisp 2nd stage break. The issue there was the fact that should you not take the shot after pulling through the 1st stage, there was not enough force from the return spring to bring the trigger back to full seer engagement, leaving the trigger in a very unsafe state. My stock trigger is breaking at 1.5 pounds.. that's out of the box. If you were getting 4+ pounds, that's interesting to me. Moreover, if you are now getting just over a pound, that tells me that you are right at the brink of the trigger break. I wonder if your adjustment would survive the industry-standard drop tests. My advice with a gun like the Bone Collector, or any of the entry to low mid-level guns is to just shoot them as they are. If you work to get good with the stock trigger, then how much better will you be with a better gun that has a more adjustable trigger? And how much safer will you, and little johnny, be during the learning process. Folks will do what they will do.. they will tinker, they will adjust, they will do things they probably shouldn't. My concern is when they try and get other people to do it too. Cheers AGW

Hey Rick, Called ya 3 mo. ago and you helped me then. I don't need to take up your phone time. Sorry if this is out of place/line but I can not find a Q&A for you or others so here's my Q / problem. Might help other airgunners. I have a Benjamin Trail NP XL .25. I zeroed @ free hand at 100 ft. When placing the front stock on a tripod , tripod resting point at front under securing screws on the wood it hits 3 dots low. is it the wrong front resting point?? or what. maybe my hold?? any thoughts??

Basically you can’t rest or use a bipod in a springer. It changes the poi. Like I showed in this video, changing the location of your support hand on the forearm caused vertical strings because the recoil changes slightly. The pellet is still in the barrel and therefor exits at a slightly different angle. If you sight holding it one way and then change to another method, then your poi will change. You don’t have the same issue with pcp Airguns. Cheers AGW

Has nothing to do with the hold wth? Try it if this or anyone else who always say that No it's called trigger pull they have no idea I can hold my .22 crossman anyway and get exact results every pellet literally in the same hole at 25yards if you use doomed pellets... the only pellet any break barrel will shoot and I always been into powder guns but lately shooting in the basement I like any gun but these guys have no idea. Has nothing again on the hold of the gun.
