Hello Sir, Thank you for showing us your new Gamo Bonecollector Air Rifle. I live in the UK, not far from Gamo/BSA in Birmingham. I think your new air rifle looks fantastic, and Hope it shoots as well as it looks. I think roughly speaking, three hundred dollars would be approximately three hundred pounds. I don't think you can argue with what £300 has given you. Absolutely fabulous! Very best wishes with your new gun!

Thanks very much for checking out the video my UK cousin! That’s so cool you live near the Gamo HQ. This rifle has been an absolute pleasure to shoot and own, and I definitely feel that I got a bargain. Are you guys in the UK able to purchase this rifle or do you need certification due to the high foot pounds?

@40AcreFrank Hi Frank, Thank you for your reply and greetings, my American cousin! Here in the UK, our legal limit is 12ftlb. More than that, a Firearms Certificate FAC would be required. I'm sure Gamo would make a 12ftlb version of that air rifle for the UK Market. I think in the mid to late eighties, Gamo, a Spanish airgun manufacturer, bought out BSA (Birmingham Small Arms). The deal was to manufacture BSA spring piston and gas ram air rifles in their state of the art factory in Barcelona, and make all BSA's pcp's here in Birmingham. Reading between the lines and gut feeling, I think this sale of BSA to a Spanish firm wasn't popular in this country, and I think sales may have been affected. BSA have an incredible history during our last two world wars, making vast amounts of armouries so that we could go to war and fight. I think BSA realised they upset alot of people, and now alot of their manufacturing has come back to their UK site. BSA released a new pcp last year, called the BSA R12 CLX PRO. It has a thumbhole walnut stock, twelve shot magazine, and pellet counter and biathlon cocking lever.. It has a shrouded, interchangeable barrel. It puts pellet on pellet at forty yards. It's fantastic kit Frank, just fantastic. Take care, Ian. Ps. It also has a big buddy bottle and great air capacity. Just a beautiful, beautiful air rifle, I love using it.

Wow some great information! Interesting! Glad to hear some of that manufacturing is coming back to the UK. I had no idea about the armories and the history with the last two wars. I actually know of BSA through motorcycles! I grew up racing Flat Track and here in the states there is a great love for old BSAs to this day. It’s always cool to see them still racing around in the vintage classes. I just was checking out the R12 CLX after reading your last comment and wow, amazing looking airgun! I’m very interested in getting my hands on a pcp air rifle and the R12 may have to go in my wishlist. Great looking gun with attractive features. Thanks for the info and recommendation! Appreciate it.

@40AcreFrank Hi Frank, Hey, it's great to hear from you again, my friend. I'm annoyed with myself for forgetting to mention about BSA's motorcycles. I think they were very popular in their day. The amounts of armouries BSA were producing were quite amazing when you consider their factory was being bombed during that time. Whilst the men went to war, the ladies sent into the factories and kept all of the production lines going. They made machine guns for the Spitfire and Hurricane fighter planes. Their machine guns were situated behind the propellor blades, firing bullets through the gaps. I wouldn't like to have to work that timing out! Quite remarkable. Yes, Frank, I love my BSA air rifles. They do quite a range now. The BSA R10 and R12 both have various stocks, thumbhole, ordinary, laminated, biathlon cocking lever, bolt action. They're fantastic. There's also Air Arms. They do the S510 range. They're fantastic air rifles, too. Check out Daystate, also. They're more expensive, though have incorporated electronics into their air rifles. I'm not keen on that direction. I prefer to make those decisions for myself. Nevertheless, they are hugely popular and have a great following. Just on my way to work now, Frank. Take care, speak soon, Ian.

Just bought one of these and you did an excellent job on your video review.... thank you and wish you the best. I bought mine for similar reasons as well... plus it is not expensive to shoot compared to noisy .22 rifles like old Marlin's I used to shoot a lot. This will be a replacement solution for that... beautiful phootography... have a great time with the rifle and appreciate this review, best one yet...for the introduction to the GAMO BONE COLLECTOR .22 rifle in my opinion.

Hi Frank, thank you for the great review! I own a Gamo Swarm Maxxim Gen 2 .22 and love it; however, I'm seriously considering purchasing the Bone Collector. The only reason I'm switching is because I have a very short forearm and my length of trigger pull is 13.25 inches and the Garmo Rifles have a trigger pull of14.50 inches. The Bone Crusher stock being wood allows me to cut 3/4 of an inch off the butt to allow a perfect fit for me. It will also allow me a little less eye relief that I need. Again, I enjoy your video and looking forward to see more. Dennis (New Hampshire)

Hey Dennis, thanks so much that is really appreciated. Happy you enjoyed the video. Wow that’s a great idea to customize the bone collector and make it shorter for you. Maybe you might even be able to reinstall the shoulder pad which would make it seamless. Still super happy with the rifle. Never gets old. I’d be interested in seeing yours after the chop job if you get one! Thanks again for the kind words. Definitely will be making some more videos soon.

You were being very careful with the gun and mounting the scope, just wondering why you didn't check the barrel out to see if it was dirty or had obstacles in it. My gamo gen 3i took 5 patches to clean the junk out.

That seems like some good advice thank you. This is actually my first Airgun and I never would have thought to check that straight from the factory. I haven’t had any issues firing luckily. Appreciate the advice and will keep that in mind and be sure to check the barrel periodically.

What is a meaning of "beechwood stock THROUGH the plastic"? Is the stock made of beechwood or is it polymer (e.g. plastic)? Also. keep in mind that the breech of this gun (the mechanism that does the "braking" and locking of the barrel) is made of plastic (which is the weakest point of the complete SWARM lineup).

Your first show were loud because you didn't clean the barrel before shooting it. The excess grease in the barrel "diesels" causing a little explosion. Try some heavier pellets in a premium brand like Diablo for accuracy.

Nice video I have the Bone Collector gen2 and it's a very nice multi-shot break barrel air rifle. With a trigger adjustment and cleaning a barrel I consistently get 35 to almost 50 yards of accuracy. If you have any questions about the trigger adjustment, let me know. Get yourself a nylon bore cleaning tool because you don't want to use steel or brass and possibly damage your Barrel. By the way those Gamo red fires you can get for $78 at Wally's World. LOL

@campfiregunpowder Жыл бұрын
Nice! Thanks so much for the advice! Really appreciate that. I love this rifle so far and really want to take care of it. How often do you clean the barrel? I’ll definitely be looking into a nylon bore cleaning tool now and I’ll have to check old Wally’s for those pellets. Thanks again and I’ll reach out when I get to adjustment of my trigger. Good stuff!

@@campfiregunpowder You're welcome. I clean my barrel when I first get any air gun. This gets out the preservative gunk used in shipping. Then I clean it when the same pellet starts getting noticably less or inaccurate because of lead build up. Patch Worm is a nice little kit for air rifles. Plus the seals in airguns get damaged from petroleum based gun cleaners. Ballistol cleaner and/or other airgun safe cleaners should always be used. Make sure you use a straw in the moderator end to keep dirt and patches from getting caught in the end too. A patch in the moderator can cause a pellet to deflect and do damage if left inside!

Wish I could afford one. I use cheap 22 cal Airtact and 25 cal new stock version called Zada. Very surprised at how awesome they are although I wish pellets weren`t so ridiculously overpriced. But I was able to stock up on cheap Crossman 22 hollow points and 25 cal H&N Field Target Trophy 20.06 grains and got four cans each of both....500 ct Crossman for under 7 bucks and 200 ct H&N for under 9 bucks. I found some domed almost 25 grain 25 cal Vortex for under 8 bucks but then they went up. But the others are accurate in the Zada. It has a lot of drop at 100 feet so I have to set up sights carefully for both short range and longer range shots where the tip of the front sight is in the bottom center of the rear at 40 feet then it hits accurately with it in the top of rear sight at 100 ft. But the 25 cal is best used for close range rabbits. It does incredible damage to old cans of vegetables. The 22 cal Airtact moves the 14.3 grain Crossmans at 800 fps but I have no idea about the 25 cal. I`m guessing about 650 or 675 fps max with lead.
@campfiregunpowder
@campfiregunpowder Жыл бұрын
I took a look at both those rifles after reading your comment and yeah they do seem pretty awesome! I love the pistol grip on the Zada! And 25 cal , I bet that is really effective on small game. Even though it’s single shot I would imagine with the 25 that’s all it takes. I also purchased some 22 Crossman Hollow points. For 500 it’s a pretty great deal and they have been surprisingly effective with ground squirrels.
@baneverything5580
@baneverything5580 Жыл бұрын
The Zada is really accurate and didn`t really need very many break in shots to get there. But each different brand of pellet changes to impact point slightly it seems. The Airtact does well with the Crossmans but it has been way too hot to practice mastering it. Heat index or real feel is 113 to 117 today and daily it`s over 100 degrees. No rain at all in a very long time so the fire danger here is severe right now.@@campfiregunpowder
