After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel kzbin.infoUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!

I've had this gun for 5 months. I upgraded the scope to a Hammers - Air Gun Rifle Scope 3-9x40AO Magnum. Since then my shots have been at a consistent dead center at 25 yards. My backyard is only so big, so that's where I have it sighted. That's using Crosman Premier .22 cal Domed Ultra Magnum 14.3 gr. pellets. I also have heavier grained Gamo pellets that perform just as well at the same distance. Note: I took a robin on the very top branch of a tree at 98.7 yds. (I used my range finder). Thought I missed it until it dropped. I qualified Expert in the army with an M16-A1 with open sights, but that was 33 years ago. My eyesight isn't nearly as good as it once was (I wear glasses now). This gun is just that good. It has a LOT of power for a break barrel, and doesn't break the bank. It does take about 200 shots for the 60 lb pull to settle down. At first I didn't think I'd be able to cock it. Once it breaks in, it's awesome. Great video. Thumbs up.

Generally when a rifle shoots accurate, but throws several separate groups the trigger guard stock screw is loose. It does not take much, just 1/8 of a turn will cause any springer to shoot erratic. Any new rifle I get, right out of the box I apply Blue thread lock to all the stock mounting screws. That puts the stop to that nonsense. I have one of the new Gen Two rifles and using the GTO Predator 11.75 pellet, I get one hole groups at 35 and 40 yards.......however past 45 yards the high speed(1050 fps) caused the pellet to start tumbling and acting stupid. So if you shoot less than 40 yards, hey that is a laser accurate pellet. I have tried every pellet known to man I think in this rifle and for my rifle and my barrel the H and N regular Barracuda is very accurate. My rifle likes the full 5.5 head size of the standard 21.14 Barracuda pellet and averages 718 fps and 24 fpe. It holds 1/2 inch groups out to 40 yards and yesterday I shot a 1.25 inch group at 60 yards. The rifle is capable of better, however I wobble too much at that range. However I was popping coke cans at 100 yards with ease. I have some really good HW rifles, they are all extremely accurate, however of all the Brands currently sold in the USA , the Crossman, the Hatsan, this and that, and more of that, it is my opinion that a Gamo is the best choice out of all of them. So if you have 300 bucks versus 600 bucks a good alternative. They are light, well built, reliable and once you do learn the hold your particular rifle likes, they are very accurate. The stocks are also quite nice and do not collect scratches and so on if you do drag them around in the woods. Try carrying my HW97 around for six hours at 11.5 pounds and you will appreciate a Gamo Light........... The Gen Two likes to be shot off a bag, off shooting sticks, or with the artillery hold, all three work well and if you put the point of contact at the balance point of the rifle it is not a hold sensitive as you might fear. Having shot springers for 30 years and I prefer them to any PCP, it is my intent to help all airgunners if I can. Having said that this Gen Two Magnum is fairly difficult to cock, I use two hands to cock it. There are no half day two pellet tins shooting sessions, for that I go get one of my HW rifles. So on this track the Gamo Bone Collector is perhaps the best all around perfect Gamo. It is also light, very accurate, has the larger piston and produces 22 fpe without the extreme cocking effort , it is perhaps the best choice of all the Gamo rifles. A note on accuracy. If you have a rifle that shoot a 1/2 inch group at 40 yards and a rifle that shoots a one inch group at 40 yards, to a squirrel or rabbit it is not even a discussion. Both rifles equal fried squirrel or rabbit pie. Grin! Cheers Kit

I know this is an older video,but after some great debate, i went out to walmart... Yeah..i know... Picked up the gamo whisper 10x for $150. My first two air rifles were the the Benjamin bulldog and a Diana storm rider.... Never shot a break barrel before... Took about 100 shots to get it settled.. Crosman premier 14.3gr hollow points.(just because i dont have to order them from the big airgun dealers).sighted to 50ft right now...shoots really nice for the price..likes the pellet as well... OMG... I have even more respect for you and all the other professional reviewers on here...after 100 or so shots, my arms are killing me....i was switching between arms and even both hands upon occasion...But.... I really like it,im positive it will be a great little squirrel head shot gun and wont be shooting 100 shot strings now,lol..that was rough..but for hunting,i can get the bag limit without wearing myself out.. P.S. i left the identical post on AES's channel too...😇

It’s not the artillery hold that helps, hold that thing tight to your shoulder, get that rifle really close to you! And in my opinion, do not get the pro version with the traditional stock, get the pistol grip version, it is exactly the same gun. The reverse recoil on this things it’s harsh on accuracy, I pull back on the grip a little as I squeeze the trigger, weird technique but it works for me.

I was a little confused when he was doing the trigger pull weight at 8:39. He said it was 3lbs of pull but wrote 13lbs of pull on the screen. Was that a mistake? Or was it some kind of calculation I am not familiar with? I own a Umarex Octane Elite and the actual trigger pull is around 14lbs. My Original Octane is only 3lbs. Crazy how different they are.

A lot of people, including me, would'nt mind the hold sensitivity of such break barrels, we can work it out with practice. But the fact that these are scope killers, is what makes Gamo magnums really unusable. I have a Black fusion IGT mach1, killed 3 scopes mounted on the RRR (useless) by a one piece mount. So when i got a sidewinder, i would not risk it on this rifle, it goes right at my hw97k. Great review by the way, big thumbs up.

awesome review, I have the magnum (not the 10-shot) and always the problem was the high recoil break the scope. I see that your group change after some shots. maybe the recoil move your scope windage and elevation. thats happening with me, never get zero after 2 shots always moved the windage turret. with UTG zero lock solve the problem but after a year the tube was broken, yes! the tube of the scope was broken not the glass, not the turrets, not the paralax. I´ll go to try ZR mount and unfortunately the 4th scope on that rifle(Gamo stock, Hawke, UTG and again UTG).

Very good video, I gave it a 👍😎 It gives a lot of relevant informtion, and about gamo I can say from experience that in general is a good brand as well. The only thing I noticed that isn't percise, is the fact that airguns generate more power in sea level height rather than in height of 5000 feet, and that may be true when we take a traditional btakebarrel springer which compressrs air from the external environment as an example, but here is shown an airgun with a different powerplant (IGT =gas ram) which is completely sealed and shouldn't be affected by external conditions, not even by the pressure of the atmosphere.
@airgundepot
@airgundepot 6 жыл бұрын
It isn't atmospheric pressure that is the concern but rather the air that gets compressed by the piston. The air that pushes the pellet is in front of the piston, which is pushed by the spring whether it is a coil spring or a gas spring. If you shoot at altitude that air is thinner and thus has less power when compressed. In general spring guns, like gasoline engines, lose about 3% power for every thousand feet above sea level.

I find it intresting that for me this gun was very easy to tame. But for me it's not artillery hold. Best groups i have done by pressing the gun tightly against my shoulder, same hole over and over again with real rifle hold. It really feels that this gun is kicking more like a real gun. Not sure, but groups are under 1cm (1cm is a LOT smaller than 1inch). Baracuda, Baracuda green, Crosman premier hollowpoints shoot's best with my gun. So far... Only RWS Hobby has been bad, too light. Baracuda green is light too, but damn that groups good.

Bit late but from my experience gamo hunter domed pellets are super acurate and verry consistent, at 30 meters I put a hunter in the same hole all day long with my 4.5 cal swarm maxim with even the odd flyer here n there been pretty damn close itself every time 😉👍, but I do find most other pellets pretty good too, only pellets I avoid completely are pointed pellets though they do work OK in some other guns I have, Hades is one of the most acurate pellets I've found but they are a little heavier so a little slower and more expensive, so gamo aluminum domed hunter are on top of my list for all those reasons and they work well in any pellet rifle, just my 2 cents here because I do shoot a heck of a lot and in fact just about to shoot now agen for probably anything between 500 and 800 shots 🤣, ( but i only shoot rats or cans n old lighters n shit like that, I love nature and will never shoot any animals of any sort ) ✌

The biggest area of concern with Gamo's Swarm line is that the breech block that goes into the forks is plastic, so longevity is a real concern. You shouldn't have problems with the barrel bending though.

Probably would have helped putting the front brace directly under the barrel break , where an outstretched arm would have put the front hand . Springers aren't hard to shoot , pull back securely into shoulder , support open handed under barrel break , and focus on the target when squeezing each shot . Allowing for the same recoil action , shot to shot . I have consistently taken raccoon and possum , as well as squirrels and rabbits with my .177 cal. Blackhawk Elite (Umarex) Ruger , and it puts them down hard . I can group my pellets under a dime at 20 yds , and after experimenting with 6different pellets , my Son's Gamo Swarm in .177 cal. is doing the same thing . Excellent gun , I would recommend to anyone strong enough to cock it and carry it , and it isn't all that heavy for a self loading repeater . Well done Gamo , even though I love my Umarex , you have changed the break barrel pellet rifle world . The next step up would be the PCP rifles that start at $400.00 + ,just to break into the game , and that is without a refill tank . There is a newer one that has a pump handle built into the forestock , bulky but interesting .!

@airgundepot
@airgundepot 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think it is possible. The Maxxim has a barrel shrouded in plastic and that is what goes into the breech block, but the Magnum is a metal barrel going into the block. That's about all I can say without tearing them apart.

Without tearing into them, all I can really say is I don't think it will work, but I'm not an engineer and don't really have an eye for that sort of thing. Keep in mind that the velocities we showed were with very heavy pellets and at high altitude. The power of the Magnum really impressed us!

@EarthSurferUSA
@EarthSurferUSA 3 жыл бұрын
Of course not. That answers both questions. I think this scope failed on this gun though, so when you get one, make sure it is advertised "mag springer rated", and has a warranty longer than you can pump out 1000 shots. If you make it to 500 shots and have not busted the scope, it will probably stay good. But 1000 will give you even more confidence. Gamo bought BSA scopes recently, and they boldly advertise springer rated on one of their "outlook" series scopes, (3-9X40 with adjustable objective lens, with mounting rings). Made by communism though, I can tell by the $80.0 price, and I hate supporting communism.
