I can confirm the tooth setting technique. When I was in the fourth grades, I was in a four wheeler accident. I sustained a concussion from it, and to this day I don't remember anything between when my face slid across the dirt road, and waking up in the hospital. Anyways, during that in-between time, one of my teeth was poking out to the point where the root was showing. So what my mom did was just pushed it back into place. Everytime I went to the dentist afterwards, they'd always ask about the tooth, and I'm like, "I don't know, I was concussed at the time. How would I remember which tooth it was?!" Must be fine, since it's been well over a decade since it happened, and I feel nothing wrong.

"Do as much damage in as short a time as possible and get out" makes me think of what I know of krav maga. I've read that it's a down and dirty, just brutal fighting style. It's all about aiming for weak points, like fingers, eyes, the nose, the groin, and the objective is, apparently, to be as efficient as possible with each opponent. So do as much damage in as short a time frame as possible. Break fingers, dislocate joints, go for the eyes, whatever you can do to rapidly disable a threat and move on until you're the last one standing. So, it's basically "go in, go ham, go home".
@Talking_Ed3 жыл бұрын
The problem is that krav maga relies on pain to work, in the real world you will die if you try it. Especially, in the real world you are not winning against multiple opponents.
@lordgenerias3 жыл бұрын
@@Talking_Ed It relies heavily on the situation. To be clear, I'm not disagreeing. I'm just saying that no martial art is great against multiple opponents that isn't very specialized for exactly that purpose, and even then it's situational. And I don't think it's so much the pain it relies on as it is the fact that it uses dislocating joints, breaking bones, and causing a lot of debilitating damage to shut down a threat. Pain is most certainly involved, but more as a byproduct of causing injuries that are very likely to disable the use of limbs or/and hands. Break fingers to negate firearm usage and hand to hand combat, dislocate a knee or two to more or less immobilize an attacker, and go for the eyes to make them far less of a threat. Under the intended conditions, krav maga can be absolutely brutal. I'd say it embodies the mindset of "F this opponent in particular".
@Talking_Ed3 жыл бұрын
@@lordgenerias Man, if you lose time breaking a finger you will get punched in the jaw and on the ground, let's be real. Krav Maga is a show off, in a real fight in the real world, you either go for the head, a grapple or get the fuck out.
@lordgenerias3 жыл бұрын
@@Talking_Ed Depends on how you break it and how close the other guys are. I'm not saying it's a guaranteed winning way to fight. In a multi-opponent fight, though, if you know you're F'd, F at least one of them up to take them out for a few days/weeks. But let's be real: this is a fighting style developed and used by the Israelis for use in war. It's not going to be used when it's obviously impractical to do so. It's going to be used on single opponents, and they're not going to waste time. They're going to do whatever does the most damage right away. I would guess the user would grab an arm as the other guy throws a punch, F up his elbow, then slam his head into the nearest wall or hard surface, probably more than once. If other options are available, that'll be what's used, like a knife or a silenced pistol if those are options, and if someone is outnumbered, odds are the user would run or, as it's likely they're likely in the military, toss a grenade and get behind cover. I know it's not the end all, be all, God Tier way to fight. But it was made for a specific purpose, and when it's used by a skilled practitioner, under the intended circumstances, it's very effective.
@Talking_Ed3 жыл бұрын
@@lordgenerias Why waste time breaking an elbow when you can get in and grapple the other dude, or punch him in the jaw and knock him out? It's literally wasting time when you need it the most. You break an elbow, the other dude is angrier and will punch you in the face and make you faint, 99% of the time, if we're speaking of another trained individual. Krav Maga works on civilians if used by military. Thinking you can fight multiple opponents, or someone that has a weapon is literally scifi. It's not god tier, just propaganda.

Nice one. Only wish I got to see two other heat moves as well. A grab heat move in Brawler where Kiryu does a suplex and breaks the enemy's back over a bike rail, and a Beast counter from a guard where he pulls his enemy's arms to dislocate their shoulders, slap them, and throw them over. He brought it up in another video w Gemma. I don't remember what the topic was. He brought up how bad of a kid he was in high school and how martial arts helped turn him around. I think it was the video about them just talking about what it takes to become a martial artist.

@rojack79er2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I just think it's stupid that you can get arrested like that for defending yourself. I've been practicing martial arts for years and thankfully where I am we don't have to register ourselves. Personally it's the same as having a gun. If an idiot is going to attack you then they better be prepared to go a hospital or end up dead.
@VisonsofFalseTruths2 жыл бұрын
@@rojack79er my thoughts exactly. What’s really crazy is in a lot of jurisdictions in the US if you draw a gun and shoot someone dead after they attack you, you don’t go to prison. But if you use a knife or a hammer or your own body as a weapon? Jail. So like, it’s legal to kill in self defense but the law dictates WHAT you can use to kill them. That’s the most obscene form of bureaucracy, when there are laws dictating “you can kill people but only with things on this list.” For martial arts I feel it’s even worse. You spent all that time learning techniques to defend yourself and then you aren’t allowed to defend yourself. But you can draw a gun a shoot someone in the face and everything is cool.
@Mexaze_2 жыл бұрын
@@VisonsofFalseTruths in my country if you got caught possessing any kind of weapon you get charged, you unintentionally fight against a robber and causes him a serious injury or worse dead you get charged also. Like what's the point learning the martial arts if you can't even fight for yourselves... I felt bad for them who sacrificed themselves to protect their home from burglars instead they got locked up in the jail...

I've always thought that rule with fighting when trained is stupid. I was in the same position as he was and when the cops asked if I knew what i had done i said yes and I'd do it again. Not fault the kid wasn't trained. He was picking on someone and he picked on me. Unfortunately I didn't want to be fucked with and he found out the hard way. I was defending myself but in the eyes of the law i was capable of being deadly to anyone so i automatically had no defense

I feel like if you’re able to take all out a situation, usually go for that as there are less repercussions against you. But you were defending yourself so I don’t know what the heck happened with them focusing on you

Solution: self defense training is now mandatory for all able bodied children starting from elementary school 🙂
@thesewerrat48953 жыл бұрын
@@zerocents4658 Thing is from the perspective of someone who is a martial artist and also a law student the way I look at it is that with a certain level of martial arts training you'll be able to end a fight with a minimal amount of damage to your opponent, especially with arts such as judo or jiu jitsu where you can incapacitate an opponent with literally no lasting damage. End of the day from my perspective a trained martial artist should be held to a higher standard of control than someone completely untrained.
@ghostknight41473 жыл бұрын
@@thesewerrat4895 it depends how u were approached by that person and the sudden action he took to get that rapid adrenaline flowing thru u. That’s a situation where u cant control ur body but act instinctively out of panic and can accidentally over do it without acc having direct or even indirect intention to seriously harm the person but just to escape from the danger. Hence self defence should be applicable to even trained martial artists.
