That is genuinely the entire reason I love these games. I've only played the first kiwami and haven't beaten it yet. But everything I have seen is so dramatic and serious, but mixed with such stupid and silly stuff that is played completely straight. It is such a weird mix, and I absolutely love it so much.

The thing that proves just how good Yakuza is is the fact that it can have both very serious, very heavy dramatic moments, and also very wacky, borderline cartoonish humor moments in the same game, and somehow neither of them disrupt the mood of the other whatsoever. Making those co-exist so seamlessly is not possible outside of a real masterpiece.
