The argument where Nebula says she just wanted a sister always gets me in the feels because when you think about it, Nebula was just the good and kind hearted sister that turned into the evil villain she is here because of the pain and torture she was out through. This was one of the best Marvel sibling rivalry ever along Thor vs Loki one on one, it was so touching how Nebula said "you were the one who wanted to win and I just wanted a sister." When Peter Quill said "family reunion yay" I laughed and thought that was a little cute, but Nebula and Gamora's sisterhood relationship is somewhat complicated being a family.

This is very similar to Captain America fighting his friend Bucky (The Winter Soldier) in the 2014 film. The misguided people (Bucky and Nebula) wanted to kill their particular target, which is the people they’re related with. (Steve and Gamora) Both heroes had to fight back against them to survive. Then their attackers were both on the verge of death in the middle of the battle. Bucky gets trapped under the debris and could die in the fall of the helicarrier, and Nebula was stuck in her crashed ship and it was about to explode at any moment. Steve saved Bucky, and Gamora saved Nebula. But after the heroes saved them, the supposedly “villains” still attacks the heroes and the fight continues. But when they had the chance to finish them off, they broke free of their corruption side, saved their close people in return, and rebuilt their relationships.

Same goes to Thor and Loki from ages of betrayal and trickery, Thor always admits to Loki that he's his brother no matter what even if they are half brother that only Loki wasn't buying to Thor's sweet talks but later on realizes that he had a great brother who he can count on and depends on but didn't cherished much of the time with him. Gamora and Nebula is like that where Nebula wants to win for her sister to accept her as a real sister but Gamora misunderstood it because they we're raised without compassion and love instead they lived as a soldier.

That’s… not it lmao. Nebula was born a cyborg, her home planets race were all like that, then thanos came, killed all of them save Nebula, then pitted the two against each other. Gamers never held back which is why nebula had to undergo the cybernetic “modification.” Knowing thanos, he wouldn’t have made the added cyborg parts heavier cuz that would affect her in battle, the whole point of the modifications were to make nebula equal or better than her sister in battle, heavy weight would effect that. Also for the falling, it’s just the way she positions herself. Gamora is free falling, and nebula is plunging cuz she has to catch up to her

Why does writing need to tip-toe around the issue to be good? Sometimes people irl address things directly as well, I'm not sure how you'd write the scene to be 'well written' but I'd be interested to read your rewrite.

@@rdarod Fiction isn't real life. If you wrote dialogue like people talk in real life, it would be half unreadable/unwatchable. Have you heard of show, don't tell? The scene in the link, if written like the GOTG scene, would have the sister who was bitten in the face yell something about how the men need to get their hands off of her sister because for all the hate she has for her, she's still her sister. But we don't have that kind of dialogue. She just throws the men off and runs and embraces her sister. The latter is much more memorable than the former.
