Other tips for fighting generals in DW3: If you hit them with around or over a 6 hit combo via grounded hitstun, that's when they counter with their musou. They'll also have a higher chance of using their Musou charge item function if you get knocked down near them.

Yeah I know they re-gain health when you're knocked down, hitting them once stops it though. (That's why Bodyguards are good to have). I didn't know it was 6 hits for them to Musou though. I noticed they counter the grounded musous like: Any Sun character, Lu Meng, Zhang Liao. And that it's better to use True Musous on them. I'm so used to DW4 it's kind of jarring playing this game sometimes lol. I might have been better player if DW3 was my first game lol
