just found your channel and love your videos, the videos of Astley Green are just superb. Im slowly building up a 5" simplex as well and your example is just stunning. I really loved your video and videos of your railway in America, the locals must have loved it. I hadn’t realised you had moved back to the UK but I am pleased you still run the locos. You have inspired me to add a small end to end line in my garden and I am in the middle of purchasing a steam loco to run on it. I am a member of a club in Yorkshire which has a large track to run on but like I said your railway had bags of character and has inspired me so thank you!

Yes you did but no steam engine was hurt in the filming. It happens sometime and I wouldn't encourage it but the engine's too light to form flats on the wheels.

Hi Matt, I'm not that familiar with with the various water qualities. I now live in Wiltshire and it's hard here all over the county.

What do you use to add to the water in the tank to stop limescale build up?

Hi Matt, I lived in a soft water area and did nothing. Now I live in a hard water area and use filtered rainwater. This doesn't completely solve the problem but as all my boilers are copper I can de-scale them with a kettle de-scaler when needed.
