i'm surprised by how much i like this version of "Woman Town" (1st song) given that it was on Hard, which at the time i thought was shite. And "we live as we dream, alone" (2nd song) is one of my favorites by the Gang. “silver lining” (3rd song) is probably the best song from Hard and comes off well here

I remember buying the single Silver Lining after school one day in ‘83. I was loyal until the very end.

Didnt realise it was released as a single. Interesting.

Sara Lee was the bassist for the HARD record from 1983, which this performance is promoting. Sara Lee was on the band for years.

6/1/84? I'm sure I saw the band just a week or two after this and that was in April 84.

@@TravisBickle1963 This was probably their final appearance before splitting up later in 1984.

6/1/84 means 6th January 1984 here in the UK. I know it would mean June 1st 1984 in North America, in case thats useful.
@MrMarco333333 жыл бұрын
@@TravisBickle1963 yes seems it was indeed January. I recall meeting the band at a gig in Leeds in April a little later - obviously it was a little longer after The Tube than I thought!

Ahead of its time by about 5 years at least.

This is when they went a bit shit. It happens to almost all groups, but with the GO4 it was like your favourite group being put into some strange coma, they lost all their energy and cutting edge.

I think Hard is their best album. I love the funkiness of it. Woman Town is weird in a good way, and I also like Silver Lining, I Fled, It Don't Matter, and especially Arabic.

Keith, that may be true on record. "Hard" sucks. But it's obviously not true live, as this very video demonstrates. I saw them on this tour and it was one of the best gigs of my life.
