Philip J. Fry huh? They've already changed quite a bit in the three years I've listened to them and I haven't been disappointed yet. If your perception on everyone who is proactive about finding new music is they hate when something goes then you are very wrong. Nice random, uncalled for personal attack but it's only showing your own insecurities. I love plenty of bands which have changed their style of time, like Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age, Killers, INXS, Cure etc. and sometimes I don't like the direction a band changes to. So what, so does everyone else.

I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't actually SEEN him pull out the busted one at the very end, after no less than 15 viewings of this video. I keep watching this and thinking that if the singer starts strumming about 2bpm too fast at the opening, this whole song collapses halfway through when the drummers can’t maintain those 16ths at the end. Absolutely epic.

I was thinking the exact same thing. He kept time perfectly throughout, which is not as easy as one might think. Especially when you take in account that he is also singing. This is a great cover. You should check out their other Like a Version when they cover The Middle East song Blood. It's spot on as well.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT IM MINDBLOWN!!!!!! like, omg, im literally spechless. the way the song gradually increased in energy was so god damn amazing! so many times do people attempt this technique of gradually increasing energy, but to do it flawlessly in a 7-minute long song?? i can COUNT with my fingers the number of people that can do it, to such a degree of perfection that they make the song appear to be 2 minutes long instead of 7 as they drive you through the most beautiful path that the song paints. jesus christ. in the original, the piano is like a base element in the song, and here, there is no piano, but the most creative awesome guitar sounds and perfectly overlapped bass and main guitar and voice that it completely shines out as a perfect alternative to the original song. add to that the freaking energy that the drums take at like minute 4:30, how the hell is that drummer even achieving such a speed? well, honestly, when in the heat of the moment, holy fuck even i could do that. never have i ever seen a cover of this quality; of this perfection that simply overwhelms me. this is PRECISELY what a cover should be like, jesus guys, this video just changed my concept of cover even. Murphy would shed a tear.

they are a brutally honest band. They've only released a few songs but theres a few tearjerkers. According to their lead singer, he wrote most of the songs about his girlfriend who had a terminal illness

That was great - I think a lot of artists who get the opportunity to appear on like a version take it for granted and play some bullshit, slowed down version of a song or wose.. These videos can generate millions of views so it's good to see these guys put the time in to make something worthwhile.

Why is this such a great cover? The guitars! So different than the original, the atmospheric effects are so cool layered on top of the driving beat. But like all great covers, it honors what made the original great. This song needs to build and build and boy do Gang of Youths nail it.
