Guru has been gone since February 2010 (nearly 12 years). 🙏 He died from a blood cancer known as 'Multiple Myeloma' but his legacy in Hip Hop remains stronger than ever to this day. DJ Premier is still the G.O.A.T. for records. I used to have Pete Rock in the Top 3 but I met him 2 years ago in NY and he was Racist Piece of Garbage. Pete Rock literally refused to sign Soul Survivor albums for anyone that wasn't "black looking" to him.

Yes sir. I agree. As a product of the 80's, the whole 80's and 90's. I was born in 71', so i was there, with the vinyls, memorizing sugar hill gang and spoonie g, listening to new york radio, the gateway to real, raw, pure hip-hop, watched it as it started out in the parks, to the fresh fests, then to conscious, Ra, PE, african mediallions, to street disciples, nas, biggie, pac, and so on and so on, hiphop had many forms, sounds and every artist was unique in their own way, lyrics were everything, you memorized them, beats were samples, djs cuttin n scratchin, breakbeats, nah mean, nylon bvds, wallabee clarks, bally boots, mock necks, leather fronts, lees n levis with permanent creases, name plates, gold fronts, kangols, cassettes, tapin off the radio, mr. Magic. Da awesome two, red alert, latin rascals. Chuck chillout, NY radio was HIPHOP, Boom boxes @ the basketball courts, the tunnel, canal street, orchid street, leather gooses, sheepskins, shearlings, avirexs, dj clue, doowop, ron g, cold crush, mighty mic masters, and so on and so on, tribe, native tongue,5 percenters, god bodies, OMG, Thank you DJ Premier, for bringing back that real, that nostalgia, Rest in Power GURU, ill kid, bald head slick.. you live on through the music!!!! Word...

I've been GANGSTARR fan since 1989 first cd" NO MR NICE GUY" GURU passed away on my birthday month in APRIL 2010. 2010 was the first year I moved to Boston . Boston is Gurus' hometown before he left to Brooklyn in 1989.

OXYGEN... Can't stop listening to this joint with watery eyes. I've been breathing Gang Starr since breaking the "No More Mr. Nice Guy" cassette & vinyl to my crew back in the super sunny & hot Summer of '89... yes, I'm an old head.👍😎 GURU has always been one of my all-time favorite emcees, as has Premier with the production. Joyful tears and much needed! We NEED an album to bring these 2 legend's work together full circle, just like the ATCQ album "We Got It From Here... Thank You For Your Service". Refreshingly necessary!!! HEAVY RESPECT.

I'm a part of Gen Z, and most of my generation doesn't listen to this type of beautiful Hip Hop... I've learned so much from listening to Gang Starr, Cole, Masta Ace, Em, Kid Cudi, Common, Black Star, etc... So many gems given in so many songs, it's truly inspiring and beautiful.
