@@maddoxwilton4134 my point is that each part seems to come from a different place. Here’s my two cents: Calamity Ganon is to Ganondorf what The Imprisoned is to Demise. I think that Ganondorfs mummification simulates the scenario that Demise found himself in during skyward sword. Calamity Ganon and Ganondorf as a whole makes Demise's threat that much scarier. If Calamity Ganon was just Ganondorf's soul or energy, then Ganondorf has probably been alive this whole time. He does questions his past actions, but i dont think he has changed all that much. He has experience and is wiser with his age and failure, but when Daphnes uses the triforce to destroy hyrule completely he gives up his calm facade. His last actions, knowing Hyrule is now truly beyond his reach and that he has lost is to lash out, a sad and petty attempt at taking the lives of two children that had already been suffering at his hands for quite some time. He doesnt go out with grace or dignity, nor does he repent his actions. He tries to kill two children for daring to be descendants of the people that foiled his previous attempts, because he is now no more than his power. No ambitions, no desires, no love, no want, only blind anger and hatred. He was already becoming a being of malice.

@@Blueroflmao Interesting, I always interpreted it as the opposite. Ganondorf defied the gods, lost, and is now ready to accept his fate. He simply never learned how to give up. He knows he is done for but wants to go out with a bang. Honourably, swords in hands. No words of hatred after his defeat (unlike Twilight Princess), just relief and melancholy. Speaking of which, I have to blame the English translation for making him sound a lot more menacing. His last line before the fight starts actually have him challenging Link and Zelda to prove they are worthy of the Triforce and the "hopeful future" the king wished for. And interestingly enough, he doesn't even try to kill Zelda. He simply knocks her down to prevent her from shooting arrows, as if she was a mere annoyance ruining a fair duel between him and Link.

The more times I hear Ganondorf's dialogue from the latest trailer, the more I find myself wondering if it is dialogue from a flashback to when he originally became Calamity Ganon, and started his pattern of spawning monsters like he does during Blood Moons. I seem to recall a memory in BotW that indicated monsters were appearing more and more frequently in the lead-up to the Great Calamity, which would imply their numbers were always tied to his presence in some way. Perhaps his "Rise my servants" dialogue was his command to the monsters when he initially released his malice and started spawning them, which could even mean that he never intended to take the form of Calamity Ganon, but was forced to after he was sealed by the Zonai, who were trying to prevent him from spawning more monsters. Or maybe I am just worried that the Mummified Ganondorf will look a little silly if he just speaks with a normal voice and am trying to convince myself that won't happen.
@lucasleite694 Жыл бұрын
Maybe since the Deku tree is gone, Link will have to resort to his new powers from his arms to try reverse the damage done in Hyrule and more likely the Master Sword. Maybe he goes out to seek the Zonai's help in fully achieving these new powers unlocked (for example: the reversing time in objects) and just like we upgraded the shiekah slates abilities, from the islands he will be able to improve control over his powers to eventually reverse the damage done in the master sword, and finally seal away the source of malice once and for all.

I always understood the line about how the history of Hyrule is the history of Calamity Ganon such that Impa refers not to the kind of Calamity Ganon we see in BotW but as a catch-all term for all the previous times Ganon/-dorf has meddled with Hyrule’s affairs and which have become myths in BotW’s time. As in, Impa refers to the events of all the previous games.

It would be so cool if in TotK you could just see Ganondorf appear in the overworld, searching and planning. Walking around with clouds of malice around him so you can spot him from a distance, anywhere. Like that feeling when you see a Lynel from a far and get scared to just turn around, but x20. *Let's not forget Fi is also still inside the sword.* "Was" might be more accurate than "is." In the trailers, we saw that the Master Sword has been completely destroyed. So, Fi is either dead, or has found a way to leave the Master Sword so as to not die.
@jeremycaswell Жыл бұрын
@@angelmendez-rivera351 possibly. The way I see it is she's not necessarily in the blade itself, but rather the hilt, since we always, ALWAYS see her pop out of the pommel itself rather than the blade, even in cutscenes

So is Demise. He got sealed away inside the sword at the end of SS. Ever since we saw the broken sword, I've been wondering if that's how Ganondorf is revived: the sword breaks and the two finally merge into one.
@jeremycaswell Жыл бұрын
@MrMcGibblets McGillicuddy I suppose that's a possibility. Though if the lich is also ganondorf, that would imply more than one Ganon. While that could possibly be the threat zelda doesn't think like can beat, that doesn't fit very well with the theme. Maybe Ganon got out before the events of BOTW, and the lich is the result of a Zoni attempt to imprison him artificially? Without a link to finish him off in the past, that would make some sense.
@goingnintendos Жыл бұрын
You have outdone yourself again with this video Zeltik! Not sure which weapon I think he'll use for a potential final battle, but I hope we get to fight him in this skeleton form - that would be cool! Could also be cool if he was resurrected just so we can see what he looks like in his human form.
@Flaris Жыл бұрын
I'm definitely hyped to see how the story plays out here. It really feels like the story will be far more active and in our faces than Botw. And Ganondorf will be a huge part of it. Of course he's extremely angry after his sealing. But what will his plan be? What kind of powers will he unleash? Presuming the Calamity is all his malice overflowing to the point that it couldn't be sealed...what could use do with all the power that has remained contained in his body now that he's free to act? What has Zelda so afraid? Such a Day 1 purchase.

I think it's safe to assume the Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom will be a new incarnation, like in Four Swords Adventures. Breath of the Wild somewhat served as a soft reboot lore-wise, and the developers have made it clear they don't want the game to be in any specific branch of the timeline. Making it a previous Ganondorf would only cement it into a single branch. But I'm very interested in seeing what they do with him.

Its possible that the zonai are actually another sheikah subfaction from long ago that branched off from the main clan similar to what the yiga did 100 years prior. It probably explains why the zonai charge is similar in design to the ancient gears from the previous game and why we see the mysterious sheikah eye symbol on Link's shield as well as other artifacts from recent trailers. Like Zelda theorists mentioned before, everytime a new sheikah symbol is introduced, it usually refers to a clan that is separate from the main group that represent one of the three triforces. It's possible that this sheikah group represents the triforces of courage like how the yiga and kakariko represent the triforces of power and wisdom respectively

I would assume this Ganondorf is TP. It matches too well with the wound and malice pouring out of his chest area. Ganondorf was stabbed in the chest with the sword of a sage. The stab wound matches up too well with this Ganondorf in ToTK. This malice is the only source of his hatred left, he is quite too angry to die in which he can't die because the malice is literally keeping him alive. He is a force to be reckoned with, the sleeping giant has woken up, and he is ready to destroy Hyrule, and to make sure it is decimated.
@Aluandale Жыл бұрын
I'll add to this, the spirit Zant neck snap really ties it all together. I've been saying this wasn't Ganondorf since day 1 and I am so happy to see the man himself return. After seeing the neck snap back into place and the chest wound, I immediately jumped to Twilight Princess.
@MEGAsTRONz Жыл бұрын
The japanese translation of Ganondorf's speech fit very well with an old theory of mine: TP was at first intended (before the birth of the official timeline) as the connection piece between OoT and ALTTP, and that speech reveal the future return of Ganon in the Imprisoning War
@grahamrichmond225 Жыл бұрын
I wonder if this version of ganondorf with the crown on his head and the hole in his chest is a nod to the ganondorf at the end of wind waker and twilight princess. The crown on his forehead covering where the hero of the winds thrust the blade in, and the hole with malice in his chest where the hero of twilight impaled him. probably not since its two different timelines, just came to mind
@jill5926 Жыл бұрын
I feel like it would be so amazing to finally hear the tragic backstory behind the man the myth the legend that is Gannon. Some part of me truly hopes to see him as past friends with the first versions of Link and Zelda, who sacrificed himself to some dark evil to save everyone else, and his desire for power morphed into something dark instead of a force for good.

I thought it was common sense that Calamity Ganon was never the real Ganon. They made that kind of obvious when you're forced to face Windblight Ganon, Waterblight Ganon, Fireblight Ganon, and Thunderblight Ganon. Calamity is just another one of his manifestations, his ultimate one. What we never knew is that his body was still out there somewhere and posed a threat.

Ok so I think TOTK’s Ganondorf is the one from TP, you pointed out that this Ganondorf has long red hair, but so does TP’s Dorf, it’s just bunned up. Also this new dorf has a wound in his chest and a gold amulet on his forehead, just like TP dorf. So if my guess about this is correct, that would mean this is the very same Ganondorf from TP, and also confirm BOTW and TOTK are in the child timeline

In BOTW, it is explicitly stated that both Ruto and Nabooru were sages, which doesn't happen in the child timeline since Ganondorf never entered the Sacred Realm and thus never killed the Sages. So BOTW, and by extension AOC and TOTK, cannot take place in the child timeline.

I wonder if Ganondorf’s body lies in his dormant and the sky islands exist in Age of Calamity’s alternate timeline. If so, then will the events in this split reality be much different than Tears of the Kingdom? I do not care if many people think that the spin-off to BOTW is non-canon. But considering how time travel has always been a part of the Legend of Zelda mythology and lore, Nintendo, along with Zelda creators, needs to make a sequel to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Zelda Series Producer Eiiji Aonuma confirms that the spinoff to Breath of the Wild is canon!

Now that we know that there existed a Ganondorf many generations before Ocarina of Time, this makes room for so much fun speculation. For example, what if real history of the first Imprisoning War was kept and passed down by higher ups of the Gerudo? Knowing that Kume and Kotake, Ganondorf's parental figures, were crazy evil witches, maybe they decided to name OOT Ganondorf after the ancient evil, raising him to become just like him. What if this fact doesn't make him a product of Demise's curse, but rather a product of the original Ganondorf's history. So Oot Ganondorf wouldn't be a reincarnation of OG Ganondorf, but rather a "Copycat", having his namesake from him. Maybe that's why TotK Ganondorf resembles Demise so much, while OoT Ganondorf is just a regular Gerudo man. But let's not stop there. What if "Malice" is actually the evil energy of OoT Ganondorf, having an endless strive for reincarnation, and taking on a pig form. While "Gloom" is the actual result of Demise's curse, still within OG Ganondorf's body. You can reay go hog wild with that. And I don't even think the first one is that unlikely.
