Dragmire is an absolutely evil-sounding name. You have "drag-", which is part of "dragon", and "mire" which is another word for swamp. If we were to use his name in full, it would roughly mean: "Demon-dragon ruler of the swamp-town" Which...doesn't fit a desert king, really.
@chickbowdrie4750 Жыл бұрын
The "mire" also means a bleak situation, so in that sense it matches quite well
@foggy8298 Жыл бұрын
Mire more accurately means just any bad place, not just a swamp (although it’s used mostly in reference to one) And wastelands are a term used to describe the gerudo desert multiple times dragon is a term originally just used to refer a big bad monster. It’s a very loose term and it always has been. Draconian Demon Lord of the Wasteland Kingdom is a metal ass name

Ganondorf Dragmire Mire pronounced as "meer". Basically "smear" without the S. Dragmire basically comes out to dragon slayer, and it was an actual name of a noble family of knights and priestesses in the medieval era. They always did "contract marriages" to keep the Dragmire name going. But like all ye olden lineages, the names get lost to time, and due process. According to my family history, my bloodline goes to the REAL Dragmire name, but it seems a more "illigitemate" (bast***) line. Unsure how true my blood family history is actually true though to be honest, other then old files from my grandmothers things. It would be cool to be descended from a family of knights though if true.

Anyone who thinks Dragmire is a terrible last name for Ganondorf would hate to see the ending of Tears of the Kingdom. Ganon turns in a literal dragon, which is part of what makes his last name. Also, for those who haven't played Breath of the Wild, there's a tapestry thing where Ganon is depicted as a, you guessed it, a dragon. Also, quagmire isn't just a name of a Family Guy character. It's a type of place, like a swamp or marshland. A quagmire can even that of any sort of harsh environment, like a very harsh place in a desert. Dragon + Quagmire = Dragmire That said, Dragmire actually matches Ganon perfectly. He likes to associate with dragons, is depicted as a dragon, even takes the form a dragon, and he lives in a harsh environment (which is what quagmires usually are). Therefore, Dragmire as Ganon's last name makes absolute perfect sense. Anyone who says otherwise either hasn't played the latest two entries, let alone any of the games at all, or is simply just dumb.
@thisisaperson660 Жыл бұрын
honestly i immediatly made the connection with dragons and I've only played two zelda games, maybe three. The way he said it in the video also isn't the only way to pronounce that. Ive heard it said Dr-ah-g meer as well. Either way, DRAGON mire fits a beast like ganon pretty damn well. I was always so disappointed when we got damn pig forms instead of a dragon for him, but in TOTK we finally got it! I... must admit I spoiled it for myself because I was thrown for a loop by everyone drawing him super hot all the sudden, and I had to figure out if he really looked like that in-game

@@thisisaperson660 If May 12th was like immediately the day before I posted my original comment, I can understand that spoiler alerts would be very much ideal. But I posted my original comment like over a week after the game has been out. Most people, including myself are already spoiled by now due to so many videos out there of many people having already completed the game. That's why I didn't think it was necessary since I felt like most people should already know by now. And I haven't even completed the game yet myself. However, everything else you said I agree with. Though I think there's a reason for Ganon's pig forms too, but they're yet to be explained. I theorize that it may have to do with an ancient folk who worshiped boars. Zelda lore is nuts that it can be quite confusing sometimes so I get why you'd be confused about the pig forms for a guy who's last name is Dragmire.
