I love playing Ganyu but Hoyoverse has been increasing enemies' damage in the abyss so much that even a shield from Zhongli isn't a comfort zone for her anymore.

You can use Ganyu's E to taunt the enemies, then move to their side or back, depending on how large their hitbox is. It's not good enough to comfortably remove Zhongli, but it's more than enough to avoid some damage and let his shield last until the next rotation. Dodging between Ganyu's charge attacks is also good, since it lets her charge her next attack a tiny bit faster, so you can avoid some extra attacks based on rng. Lastly, Zhongli's Q is also good sometimes, especially against consecrated beasts, since it lets you setup with Bennet and Xiangling without losing shield durability or having the beasts jump all over the arena.

Yanfei shield is useless against beasts I just play shieldess ganyu/bennet/nahida/kazuha against consecrated beasts lmao.

Traditional Ganyu melt (ZL/Bennettt/XL) can never be recommended if XL is below C4, because the pyro application duration is too short. Also, there are scenarios where you're able to burst with Ganyu, primarily AOE. (1) Her burst does a ton of damage, enough to offset any missed melts in those scenarios. (2) A bigger factor for many players is that having ZL's shield broken (which consecrated beasts do easily), missing CAs, and/or being forced to dodge or reposition costs you CAs in practice. The burst always does damage, giving you a floor of damage. In practice, I'd argue Ganyu should burst more often than not, even in melt. And that's also why 4pc Shime is hard to recommend, because it strips her of her ult. This is the one main disagreement I have with this guide (10:36 You definitely don't want to burst...). If you bursted in 12-1-1, you would clear it faster.

Burnmelt Ganyu with Nahida lets you melt-shot flying bosses like Wenut or Wolflord from any distance, so I like playing this version against these bosses (sometimes hyperbloom is difficult against these flying phases where you can't generate blooms). Also, I don't think Zhongli is a good shielder specifically in Nahida Melt Ganyu because his pillars can trigger crystallize which throws off Nahida's tri-karma timing and make you drop burning. I think c4 Yanfei is the best shielder in this team because she can help you reignite burning from a distance if you drop it. I've cleared a good amount of Spiral using Melt Ganyu, but it is very much a hypercarry build and not for everyone. Also, if you play with the Sunfire Jean version of Melt Ganyu, you SHOULD burst with Ganyu because Sunfire applies 2U of Pyro instead of the usual 1U of Pyro, so your burst icicles will not steal any Melt shots away from you and you can benefit from extra burst damage and Cryo damage from being inside the Burst.

When I play melt ganyu, I use Nahida. Love it, but I usually need Nahida on my other team.

Genshin community has been plagued by kqm artifact Standards with subs you can get within a week of farming. Makes people disregard hyper carry teams that require more vertical investment. Unfortunately people just won't understand the power of hyper carries no matter what they see

For game outside Abyss she helps for easy crowd control...but where her freeze works, hyperbloom and aggravate works too so that's why it's not just Ganyu but basically game is going towards dendro...And even after few updates this will not change, not until the end I guess... But dendro apart can't freeze and kill enemies at the same time...She don't even need to run if we use her in the rain or near water... It's just freeze and kill play...For Abyss though people just like teams which can clear it in few sec...

When I did get Ganyu, I already had her weapon and lucked out to get a c1, the c1 really helps makeup for the fact that you're basically making up for the cryo bonus damage you would've have if you some reason used Blizzard Strayer or a dps Ganyu

If you're going to run smth mechanically intense, Hutao has more frontloaded damage and output Ganyu melt is a team that looks good on paper but then you realize, her other teammates do shit for dmg (pure ER Xiangling even with Bennett, or burning Nahida with ZL), so the overall performance is just mediocre without higher ganyu investment like a stronger weapon/artifacts Honestly I'd argue that she wasn't even meta outside of her freeze setups, but even then, freeze was also never stellar dmg output wise, it is was just extremely cheesy when dealing with freezable, suctionable mob abysses

Also Ganyu's ult is worth casting even on melt, it snapshots from bennett and makes her at least a bit more forgiving play wise

I have a 76/241 crit 201 EM ganyu that I play on freeze/mono cryo even though she's on the wanderer's set... I need to farm blizzard but these substats from years of boss drops are hard to replace.

I don't really care if she is meta or not. She is literally the only reason I play the game, because there are no other characters you can effectively use to shoot stuff. I don't really like melee combat, and the auto targeting with catalysts makes me sick. So she literally saved the game for me when I started, because I was using shotgun-Amber back then and I didn't plan to change it.
