We've been doing the GAPS for almost a year. I started bedridden, but at some points for a couple months I was sleeping 14-16 hours a day! I want to encourage anyone who is considering GAPs! I'm about 80-90% back to normal with my energy and other symptoms I overlooked for decades!

I have been on a modified gaps diet for almost a year and I never got into doing enemas. The practitioner I was working with didn't really talk about it much. She just kinda mentioned it. But I switched to a new person, went back to the introduction phase, and started doing enemas and Epsom salt baths every other day, and oh my goodness. I had no idea I was so dehydrated and I felt so toxic. I wasn't pooping every day. Constipation only got worse because I was taking way too much magnesium citrate. After a while, it stops working. But wow...I had no idea how well the saline enema would make me feel. I was having bloating and headaches and immediately after that enema my headache went away. the bloating went down. I still had stomach cramps but I felt 10x better

We started gaps this week and this was wonderful to hear. My daughter was having some serious die off yesterday and I didn’t do it on purpose but backed off kraut juice and she felt much better. I felt really guilty for not giving them to her last night. I just plain forgot. Glad to hear it was the right thing to do. Pour thing. We have always had lots of probiotic rich foods in our lives. But the kraut juice was to much. She can handle kefir and raw homemade yogurt just fine. But that one was just to much! Thank you Marisa! 🥰

What were her die off symptoms? I'm curious because we just switched from a pretty standard American diet to WAP with lots of fermented foods and my son had some vomiting upon waking this morning but was fine after he ate. Im just wondering if I should attribute that to the switch or not.

This was a really useful video! Thank you for sharing. Seeing you make videos with your babies in tow is so inspiring. I’m dealing with chronic fatigue syndrome and constant migraines. I’m easing into GAPS after being low fat vegan (medical medium). I’m a mum to an 11 month old so life is not easy right now. Your videos are helping a lot! Much love x

Kim, could you please 🙏 share your symptoms and how is your progress on this diet? For me raw plant based helped a lot, i revearsed terrible symptoms i had, but it is the toughest diet. I ate only fruits and veggies. Did a lot of cleanses. But of course i malnourished myself. But i didn't care at the time , as the symptoms where debilitating.. Now, when I'm trying to add other foods, like meat, ( i digest meats nicely and easily, and it gives me muscle strength after 2.5 of raw vegan) , I am starting to have terrible body pains, migrains, brain burning, inflammations, and constant herpes on the lips, and some minor stuff like tonsillitis, acne.. I am in Bed again ... i feel trapped 😞😔😕

Thanks so much for all the informative videos! Is insomnia by chance a common die off symptom and do you have any recommendations? Already supplementing with PO mag and the magnesium lotion from your store at night. I’ve been feeling half awake half asleep mostly all night for over a month now m, so I’m struggling.

Just a standard gaps diet for me was a pretty liberal diet. I didn't get any die off until I went on the lion diet and did long intermittent fasting.

Thank you so much for all this information! I'm learning so much and am just starting my journey to heal my gut. I am currently breastfeeding my 6 month old, but my GI symptoms are so miserable, I want to start my healing now. Is it ok to do the introduction diet while breastfeeding a baby? Is it a concern that I may detox through my breast milk to my baby?? I'm starting her on solids the Nourishing Traditions way too! I have your GAPS to Go course and I'm excited to get this started. I just don't know whether to start with the intro phases or with the full GAPS to perhaps do the intro down the road when my baby is older. Thank you and God bless!

Hey! For the past week or so I have switched my family to a WAP type of diet..before my kids would have a mixture of foods, but definitely had some processed sugar and grains, etc. Now we have been off and also consuming raw milk daily as well as other fermented foods. My 5 year old son this morning was complaining of an upset stomach right when he woke up and ended up vomiting (a very little amount)- but once he ate (I made sprouted pumpkin oatmeal) he felt fine. Do you think the vomiting is related to the switch in diet? Thanks in advance🙏🏼💜🥰

Thank you! Yes, Dr. Natasha says gas is usually yeast activity, and you'll see some die off as you go through intro. She says to continue with the diet and over time everything will settle down. If you feel yucky, definitely slow down on the fermented foods. Hope that helps! Feel free to reach out via email or Instagram!

very interesting and important subject as i just started my gaps journey. but sadly could not listen more and whatch when your kid started playing. many gaps people have problem with noice, vision and focus. for example big part of being on a adhd and autism spectra is to have these issues. but other health issues make you have theese problems to. so i whish and hope you could concider this in future videos. i appreciate that you have no background music in your videos as so many other youtoubers have. thanks for your work. have seen some of your videos. helps a lot. 🙂

Great video as always! Any thoughts on what I could try? I've been on gaps with only avocado/egg yolks and carrots for 2 months. I've improved from 3 to 1 bowel movement a day but it is still always loose. Also how long did it take you to heal your skin? And did you react badly at all to dairy? Thank you !

Homemade raw milk yogurt and kefir will really help firm things up! Dr. Natasha says you want to start slowly if you're introducing it for the first time, but you can drink 1-2 cups a day. My skin was one of the later things to heal up, about a year into the diet. The energy and weight headaches being gone were some of the first to improve :) No, I didn't have issues with dairy. I didn't really eat pasteurized dairy before GAPS anyway. Hope that helps! Feel free to reach out via email or Instagram!

Question, I'm going through detox doing GAPS & ClO2 at the same time. I have typical detox symptoms but for some reason I'm craving Jamaican Beef Patty. They have a particular flavor, and I think what my body is craving from the ingredient list is Turmeric. Do you think my body is actually trying to get me to put turmeric into it? I know it's good for liver function and other detox related things. Should I make some lamb with turmeric on it, or something similar? Thanks!

And im currently not on any drugs that are supposed to constipate me. So im curious if this diet is the best for me. doctors have said in the past that i had " leaky gut" ..... from what youve said "leaky gut' causes shitting problems. To much of it, thats not been my issue, its the opposite. Any ideas on this? I can imagine not being able to shit normally is causing me to feel like shit.

I am 3 days in to full gaps (or trying to be, the majority of my food is eggs, breakfast meat, broth, and smoothies with bananas, apples, and blueberries). I am experiencing chills, body aches, extra mucus in my throat, a cough, headaches, fatigue and brain fog. I'm a little worried I'm actually sick. Do you think this is die off symptoms or an illness?

It's hard to say without knowing more; it could be die off or an illness. You could try cutting back on any fermented foods for a bit. Hope that helps!

Hi i gave my son 2spoon of juice from sourkraut and he had diarrhea one hour later It could be from juice?is it a good sign that he had diarrhea?thank you.i love to watch your videos

Yes, most likely die off. Die off is good to some degree, we just don't want to go so fast that we're uncomfortable. I'd back off the amount to less :) And thank you!

If I’m continuing to have bloating/gas weeks into the gaps diet do I need to go back to stage 1? No matter what I eat it just won’t go away :(

@@BumblebeeApothecary i had the same problem with the audio but what you could do is use a special type called a “Directional” microphone thats set up facing away from your kids and toys so that the noise isn’t picked up as much. Currently it is picking up the kids noise almost more than your own. Anyway I think that would allow us to hear what your saying and not get distracted at the same time allowing you to be with them on video 👌. 😁

I am not sure what my body is doing at the moment. I am not sure if everything is ok in there, or if there is something seriously wrong. I am currently in stage 4 (day 52), almost ready for stage 5. This weekend i did GAPS fasting. (2 days) Everything was explained perfectly in the Blue Book. Also used the enema's, also perfectly explained. But the tummy isn't really happy inside. I dont know if i better keep moving to the next stage, or go back to stage 3 and stay there for a while. Its mainly my stools and their color that i am worried about. Even after the enemas, the system doesn't seem to want to get going. When will Everything be back to a little bit of normal? 🤭🙈

@@SineannaHi, still going strong with the diet. I skipped fase 6 and tried full gaps but that didnt really worked out. The fasting became a lot easier after a while though, no more extreme food cravings, a lot less bloating and general belly discomfort. I started feeling more energetic recently, even though there is still enough healing to do. The eating is still weird. Cant eat really 'normal' meals. I am mainly eating fase 3&4 foods. After a fast i use the introduction fases to get used to food again that works best.

8:55 ive been sick for 2 weeks. im never this sick. but i started fasting and eating only meat some days ago and it feels like im getting sick all over again despite getting adequate electrolytes to rule out any "keto flu". damn!

@@BumblebeeApothecary Can you tell me what he did please or perhaps what I can do? Or better yet make a video?! I've had brain fog for 5 years now ongoing and have been trying multiple diets. Recently falling upon Keto/GAPS and eating fats and fattier meat etc. I am doing much better but I really want my brain fog to lift and have been at it like a full-time job which is understandable but I really want to get to the bottom of this. Please help! Thank you for responding I really appreciate it!

It's hard to say without knowing more about your health history and lifestyle habits. GAPS is very bio individual.

How is it going for you?? I am on my 3d day! Yesterday I had diarrhea, today I had a migraine. A lot of growling in the stomach. But my mind is already clearer! I have loads of gut issues and severe depression (i am on a low dose ssri now). I really hope gaps helps me!❤️ Thank you, Marisa, for the great info!☀️

@@tatianaogorodnikova4953 в начале меня вырвало и мигрень была ужасная, потому что гистамин от костного бульона ещё больше понижает давление, а я ещё кофе убирала и у меня у самой низкое. Кофе вересков, костный поменяла на мясной бульон и ещё ем тыкву в духовке и свежую морковь с кокосовым маслом. Пока все хорошо 👌 у вас?

В общем я перестала костный бульон делать, времени нет… я сейчас ем каждый вечер мясной бульон с этим же мясом, и имбирем и яйца с сырым желтком. Из углеводов тыкву, морковь с маслом кокоса и маслом гхи. Ложку мёда в сотах. Гималайская соль. Раз в неделю бывает рыба. Утром пью кофе и матчу. Вечером пью ромашку и ашваганду. Прыщи прошли, и запор тоже … но все зависит от баланса омега 6 к омега 3… если бывает перебор с кокосовым маслом , какой нибудь прыщик да выйдет. Менструальный цикл стал длиннее. Пока все… у вас как дела?

I am breastfeeding mum, could I do GAPS? won't baby get any toxins from my body? It seems baby's health is good but can a baby also do GAPS? :) Thanks.

I do believe it's not recommended to do the intro stages while breastfeeding. But maybe you could go slowly into full gaps or start to incorporate gaps foods like the meat stock. How long have you been nursing? Once your child eats more solids, you can do more detox-type stuff.

Great question! Dr. Natasha recommends full GAPS (not intro) while nursing, because intro can trigger a lot of detox and we don't want to expose baby to that. But full GAPS is a great way to nourish yourself and baby. Hope this helps!

Guys, I am desperate for an advice!! Also could you please 🙏 share your symptoms and how is your progress on this diet? My strory in short: For me raw plant based helped a lot, i revearsed terrible symptoms i had, but it is the toughest diet. I ate only fruits and veggies. Did a lot of cleanses. But of course i malnourished myself. But i didn't care at the time , as the symptoms where debilitating.. Now, when I'm trying to add other foods, like meat, ( i digest meats nicely and easily, and it gives me muscle strength after 2.5 of raw vegan) , I am starting to have terrible body pains, migrains, brain burning, inflammations, and constant herpes on the lips, and some minor stuff like tonsillitis, acne.. I am in Bed again ... i feel trapped 😞😔😕
