Hi , my child is allergic to eggs what worse could I Replace with. And also if they don’t like sorten food do they have to eat it , for the GAP diet to work.

How long is it considered too much? I read you should only be on a intro stage level 1 for no more then a week. I’m on day 6 and although I feel better I still have symptoms

Hi Marissa, thank you for all your hard work and knowledge you are sharing with us, I greatly appreciate it! Could you maybe give me some advice? I'm on my my 4th day of the Intro diet stage one and from day one I've been feeling pain in lower abdomen (intestinal tract), like the kind of pain I would get when eating gluten or after having a course of antibiotics. I've been on beef, chicken and fish stick and soups only so far and I haven't introduced any dairy products yet. I have only been eating small doses of sauerkraut juice and I notice that the pain gets much worse after I consume it. Should I just stop with the kraut juice for a while then and try introducing fermented dairy? I'm so confused about what to do as I really want this diet to work but the pain just isn't going away from day one and I'm getting really tired of soups... :(

@@BumblebeeApothecary I’m watching this video 2 years after your last comment here... and also finding the music distracting too. Maybe it would help to know why… I am on stage one, day six, of gaps Intro. My brain is so foggy it’s difficult to pay attention to even one thing never mind two things 😂 So my brain wants to listen to you talk, and listen to the music, but the net result is I can’t focus on anything at all. The music really makes it much harder to focus on what you’re saying, which feels stressful because I really need the help. My personal preference on KZbin is videos with no music just somebody talking, but that is unfortunately rare. Great videos, very useful right now thank you.

Thank you for your videos! You are so helpful to someone just entering the gaps world. I am on day 4 of the stage 1 intro diet. Am I supposed to stay on this stage until I can tolerate egg yolk in the second stage? I’ve been unable to eat eggs for years. I’m confused on the different information I’ve read about this.

I've been trying to stick w/GAPS intro for quite some time and find it very difficult. My dr. told me that I had the worst case of SIBO they'd ever seen and my allergy test came back saying that I only tolerate peas. Any advice?

Is coconut water good for clearing stuff out too? Would you avoid that if you are prone to diarrhea?

It can definitely move things along! Since it is so sweet, it's usually added later on GAPS. You can also fermented it :)

Hey there great video! I was wondering what brain fog would mean as a symptom? Die off, intolerance, or maybe even blood sugar issues?

Thanks! Great question. Dr. Natasha says that brain fog usually comes from yeast in the body. It can also come as a die off symptom. Blood sugar could be a possibility, too. Hope that helps!

I’m doing no plants gaps, just meat broth currently. I was previously carnivore 4 months. Any idea why I feel worse with the broths? I made sure I do them right on an extremely low heat for 2 hours and I don’t fridge in case of histamine issues. I just feel drinking 5 cups of broth a day and eating the meat has caused some fatigue? Does the broth cause a change and die off much more than before when I was carnivore just eating steak and mince etc? Because before I ate a lot of meat and didn’t quite feel as bad.

The meat stock will cause more healing/detox to happen than just eating meat, so that might be what is happening. In the long run it's a good thing, and you'll feel better as time goes on and the body does more clean up. You can also try changing to a different kind of meat stock. Some people react more to beef. Dear Marisa, your videos are so helpful and inspiring. I have my diagestion problems for about 10 years now and I've learned a lot during this time, but I never had to follow the protocol from the beginning and it looks like nothing else will help this time. I have colitis and I've been on soups for about a week. If I'm honest I feel sick when I have to eat next soup again and at the same time I know this is the only way. I also started to feel pain in my back, when I lay down. According to your experience, do you think this is related with diet? I also feel so sick every morning, I can't stand on my feet. Hi Marisa. Thank you for your videos. They help me a lot! As I am trying to do GAPS on my own, it can be pretty hard to figure out things. I have a question about moving through the stages. I started last year with keto diet. After 2 months my dietitian recommended me GAPS Intro. So I started but I guess it was rather stage Intro 3 or 4 as I was learning what is it while doing it. Now when I know more about GAPS I try to do it properly, so I am eating things from Intro stage 2. But I realized that I still dont tolerate onion, garlic and broccolii which are from intro stage 1. I am thinking to go to stage 1 but does it mean that i should be on intro stage 1 until i start tolareted all food from that stage?

Good for you! Dr. Natasha says to only be on stage 1 for a few days, a week at the longest. Then move to stage 2. Feel free to contact me via Instagram or email if I can help further!

How will I know if i'm improving, since my eczema is chronic and has not gone away for years? I am on day two of stage 1 - but I really doubt i will see a difference quickly?

So I am doing Gaps to combat inflamation. When i eat certain foods i get a inflamation pain in my hands. I've been on a detox pre-gaps for months. Ive been on Stage One for five weeks and stage 2 for two weeks. Do I keep moving forward if I tolerate eggs, advocado, (most things except tomatoes spinach and ghee) ? No idea when to move forward. Thanks so much

Dr. Natasha recommends extended stage 2 when you need extra time for healing. That allows you to move ahead through the stages, but avoid fruits (including avocado), fruit, and nuts. Here's how you know when to move to stage 3: Introduce avocado. If old symptoms come back, you're not ready for stage 3. Go back to stage 2 and stay longer. Hope that helps!

Hi, We just started the stage 1 for one day n my daughter complained a bit about stomach pain and woke up the next day with bad stomach pain and vomiting, I don’t know if it’s die off or an intolerance, she has had all the foods we’re eating before n I never noticed any issues, any idea what it could be ?

Hey.At first when I started my son gaps diet he had crazy diarrhea ...Mild flu .. I got scared and stopped gaps diet . Then after months he’s again On gaps diet ...He didn’t have much poopie diapers.Just 1 potty diaper in a day or 2 .Hes having terrible gases.What I’m I supposed to do now?

No, Dr. Natasha recommends full GAPS while nursing. Intro causes a lot of die off and detox, and milk is a perfect avenue for toxins to travel. We don't want to send toxins to the baby.

So sorry to hear that. Great question. Dr. Natasha recommends spending a short time on stage 1, and then moving to stage 2. Stage 2 is where the deepest healing happens, and she recommends staying there for as long as needed. Some people, especially with epilepsy, find they stay on stage 2 for a long time. People can even stay on stage 2 for life, and do wonderfully with having their symptoms stay away. Stage 2 includes everything we need for complete nutrition. Here's how to know when you're ready for stage 3: introduce avocado. If any old symptoms come back, you're not ready. Go back to stage 2 until more healing has happened. Hope that helps!

Hi Marissa, i have been on stage one for 8 days now and i didn't really have any food sensitivities before or obvious issues, i just have mild rosacea, the second day of stage one i started having muscle ache only in my legs and till now it is not going away, i usually have that for 3 days or so when i go very low carb, but now it is day 8 and i still have the same ache, it is not going down, i am bored of stage 1 and i want to move to stage 2 but i cant figure out what's wrong with my legs, i took magnesium and vitamin B to help, but it is not working that much, is that a die off or i am allergic to meat stock!! also i generally have constipation and now three days ago i started to have loose stools but not frequent. So honestly this is getting very very very confusing, i cant understand what is happening to me. If you can help me please. thx

I'm glad to help! I would make sure to do plenty of epsom salt baths. It's probably some die off/detox which is using extra magnesium, and the epsom salt baths will help with that. Also, the looser stools are a good sign, that usually means the body is getting rid of stuff. At any rate, it's a much better situation than constipation, when the liver can get backed up. Absolutely! But having the die off happen too fast can be very uncomfortable, and even unsafe sometimes. So it's best to help it happen as slowly and gently as possible. To make this happen, you have to be strategic with what foods you eat. And it's a very individual thing.
