Dani! I love everything you do! You are a rock star in my book! You sure tacked your fear of heights; you went up/down the scaffolding like a pro. It's fun to watch and gives me hope. I learn so much about products and do's/don't's. Enjoy your day and have a fab weekend!! PS: how cute is Kenobi looking out the side window of your vehicle. He's such a blessing and super cute! 💕💕💕💕

Every time I see the front of your garage I can’t help but wish the windows on the front were double opening doors with a pulley system outside so all the “big” diy objects you are going to do once the garage is done could be raised or lowered from the top floor to ground level 😮 and think of all the thumbnails you could do hanging off the pulley system 🎉 I am seriously loving this build and can’t wait too see what happens next ❤

Canadian geese have invaded my back yard, deer are eating all of my hostas, day lilies and hydrangeas and my cat pulled down my lace curtains trying to catch an imaginary bug. Then your video dropped and I know I can manage the rest of my day just fine. Your videos always take me to my happy place!🌸

Hi Danie. I do enjoy watching your garage build. I find it just as interesting and entertaining as your DIYs and renovations. I'm really impressed by the projects that you take on. I don't know if you're familiar with MaCenna, but she is also a DIYer. She lives in Los Angeles, but around 2 years ago, she bought a house in Texas, where she is from and where her parents live. With the help of her partner and her family, she took the house down to the studs salvaging materials as she went. Then she designed the house she wanted. She had contractors add a new slab, walls, and roof. Plus, they did the electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, and HVAC. After they were done, MaCenna, with help, started putting the house back together. It's a great series on the channel XO, MaCenna. You remind me of her because she is self-taught, and she is tackling projects that she has never done before. You both amaze me. 😊

It's really coming along! I sent you an IG message about not worrying too much about your garden while this project is going on. I renovated an abandoned home with contractors over 4 years, I started on the garden by myself after the house was done. Last year I built a shed, greenhouse and sunken garden which I thought would take a few months and took the year. The plants will still grow, the garden will still be there and once you have the garage done-you'll have more space to prep/plan/store materials and tools and the garden will be much easier to work on. Good luck, take breaks so you don't burn out and be patient with the inevitable delays or set backs!
@outoftheburrough
@outoftheburrough Жыл бұрын
Yep gardens take years whether it's from new or just new to you. I've been in my house 6 years & am finally feeling like I have more of a grip on my garden, you have to figure out what is where and then if it & you like it where it is, if you don't you move it and then have to wait another year to see if it's better or not & you don't necessarily want to add too much in one go while you're working it out. It's a creative process
@Sullivan_Owen
@Sullivan_Owen Жыл бұрын
@@outoftheburrough this was the year I stopped beating myself up for moving plants around, my garden is the first project i’ve ever done that grows on its own as well as by my efforts. It’s constantly evolving and that was hard for me to grasp in the beginning, now I’m just trying to roll with it each season and do what I can.

I'm almost a construction engineer. I've been a rockwool fangirl ever since we learned about the different types of insulation. So I sat nodding through your entire infomercial. So yeah, I love this content. A little concerned about your floor, as there is no reinforcement and no dilitation space (to provide space for expansion and contraction). But I'm sure you had someone look into that. I am so in awe of you and Jeffrey for taking this on yourselves!

As someone who can not get past the 2nd step of a ladder, your one brave lady. Dad and I built his workshop while mine was being built by the builders, we had to put it together like a puzzle box the instructions for it turned out to be the wrong ones and as we bought it second hand we could not get the correct instructions🙄🙄 just lucky I’m good with puzzles 😹😹😹 We went through every piece of framing metal and Messi red them wrote their size down with a paint pen then drew on the concrete floor the shape of each side with blue chalk before we got started on each side😹😹😹half way through with the screws we noticed they would start to unscrew them selves while we were drilling in the next ones so we bought pop rivets to fit the hole and bought a air-compressor pop rivet gun no way was I going to do 2000 pops all by hand😹😹😹 When the builder spotted what we were doing he came over to have a look and that’s when he noticed the company had sent the wrong screws for the job, sigh strike 2 against buying a second hand build it your self garage/workshop 😏😏😏but he loved our solution for the problem😹😹😹it took Dad and I to build all 4 sides around 10 days so was very pleased with that. The builders were just finishing off my workshop at the same time ad so they then took over from us by putting up the walls and the roof and siding. So Dad and I went over to my workshop and changed all the screws out for pop rivets there as well. We found that they worked out so much better than screws and it firmed up the framework so much more. Then we cut up some (lots) plywood pallets that had come in holding solar panels and turned them into a fancy wooden floor for my workshop (sewing room, craft room) that took us a month to do The whole project got put on hold when I got sick, but we’re hoping to get it finished next summer if all goes well.

I appreciate you sharing this. I live in an old house and even if it’s not my favourite thing to do, I spend a lot of time doing maintenance and upgrading the insulation has been the biggest thing and it isn’t over yet. So I too have gone in to the insulation rabbit hole 😁 I live in the middle of Sweden, so pretty much same climate as yours. Love this content as well as your usual stuff. You are a great inspiration and motivator!
