So glad the video helped, save that money! It's one of those jobs you can look at and say "I did that."🤘

Thanks! Works like a champ now. Going to go ahead and put supports all the way down to avoid any future issues. It almost seems that all garage doors should have these to begin with. 🏍🏴☠

Right on! Yes it would make too much sense for the L bars to come with the door lol

This could add to much weight to your door and wear our springs prematurely

Good point, I'll keep an eye on it. So far it's been 8 months 🤙

Thank you. This helped in fixing my garage door, it was bent. Question: how does these iron slotted angles effect spring ? Do they put too much load ?
@bambootraumaАй бұрын
You're welcome! The L-shape bars prevent the panels from bouncing and jolting, the right-angle of the bar is significantly harder to bend versus a flat plate. As far as the spring and load, it should be ok. As you bring the door up and down the first few times, I'd keep an eye on it and listen for groaning or other strange sounds. My garage door motor is very small and standard and it's doing fine. I hope that answered your question👍

@@bambootrauma yes, it does. Mine is not making any noises now. Thank you!

You don't know if the door is balanced unless you disconnect the door opener when the door is *down* and then test the door.

That makes sense 🤙

You do what you have to in order to get to work, but that door doesn't look long for this world, lol. If you can get actual garage door struts, one at the top of the two middle sections might enough to keep it going for a while, unless you plan to upgrade the door in the future.

8 months after the fix and it's still working great 👍 Thank you, I'll look into that if any problems arise. I might get a new garage door opener because the one I have is slow

@@bambootrauma I hear Genie makes a high speed opener, if that is a thing you are into. But that's all I recall, I don't know much about it other than I saw some vids of it operating at it's pretty fast. I'm always interesting in how long some repairs last. I saw another vid recently with that same repair and that one made it 4 years before he decided to pony up the dough for a new door. He said it was working fine, but his door also was less damaged. I think that is a popular repair because those pieces are pre-punched and easy to find.

@l337pwnage you are right, I used to have a Genie and it was fast. I'm using a Viper x50 now
