These old hit and miss engines are very cool. I think you got it running like it should towards the end. You should find something to run with it and see how it does under a load.

A little air compressor running off of it would be pretty cool I thought.

This is a ignition hit and miss engine,its missing the caution plate, Maytag 92s were made from 27-37 there good little engines,do not run 2stroke oil in it,30 weight non detergent 16-1

Watching the video you really need to read alot about these engines before you work on one,you have no idea what your doing and do not understand how they work,the two screws you loosened hold the point spring and insulators on,the the govenor regulates the speed,you loosen the lock nut to adjust the points

Best way to learn something is to dig into it. Doesn’t matter that I have no idea what I’m doing, I had fun.
