I've been following this project from the start and it has been nothing short of spectacular! I'm amazed at how much the guys have accomplished in such a short amount of time. I must sound like a broken record because I keep mentioning this, but really, if ya'll have a chance to peek in live on Twitch while they are working, it really is the best front row seat to have and is so much fun. Time permitting, we all interact with the guys and Nate is always making sure we have the best visual so we can see what's going on. When he puts out the long video updates like this, he brings it all together! Thank you, Nate! (side note: Nice to have you back home Jen!) ❤

I still think people would love to replicate the outdoor kitchen look. After watching most of his videos I understand the purpose of the outdoor kitchen and appreciate its style. Maybe in person it’s easier to see what might need changing, but on camera not from a distance it’s fully of style. Modern rustic chic.

With the solar you have a major advantage of having lived with it there for a while and learning how to best optimize your ability there. Also with the contractor the fact you’re having to nit pick to find “issues” says a lot about the job they did.

There's a lot of comments so this may have already been said but have you thought about putting in a gable door? You could put in a retractable I-beam with pulleys on rollers so you can lift up heavy stuff and roll it into the upstairs. The balcony idea is good as well because you can have a nice spot to sit and relax and enjoy the views. With the balcony being there you could do the I-beam over the balcony to lift stuff up and sit it down on the balcony then take it inside as well. Between the balcony and the building you can do a triple sliding door so you can open it up big enough for different size items. Sure beats lugging stuff upstairs especially if you're living alone. You could do an inside lift so when you get older it will act like an elevator saving you having to struggle up the stairs. It will deter from flooring space, just put furniture on it. this way you can lower down sitting your favorite recliner and have a lift you up. Have it big enough that you can put items on it and let it lift the supplies up with it. It would be way more complex and expensive to do but it would allow you to back the stuff into the garage and load out of the weather. I guess the main point would be a personal elevator. Not sure on the lifting mechanism. You could do an in floor pair of pistons to lift it or a cable system. Cable system would get in the way though unless you slide in Support's under the floor when it's at the top and just disconnect the cables. Hydraulic system depending on where you locate it. You could connect it to the piece of floor like a forklift that way they're not blocking space inside the garage. So many ways this could be done to mention here. Your garage looks great and is giving me ideas for my own property.

Nate, when I built my similar size barn/garage I also opted for a 20’ door. After a lot of thought I decided to install 4-5’ wide doors all hinged so that they open like a closet door. They work flawlessly and after 20 years they still swing and hang perfect. It was also about 1/4 of the price of an installed door. No hardware to deal with, no electric openers etc….. plus it looks amazing. Your guys can build them on site out of 2” x 3”’s and shiplap or T&G. Either way , they work great. One heavy metal channel holds the HD rubber wheels in place. You just screw the wheel hardware on and lift them into the roller track. Trust me it will save money and add a wicked cool architectural feel. I’m a retired architect/builder. You’re doing a great job with your land, your projects and especially your personal life. That girl has made you a better person. The good ones always do🤣 and you clearly have a good one. Plus those dogs and cats are a hoot!! Love your content buddy good luck ok. ✌️🇺🇸😎

Are you going to reuse the present solar panels for the southeast bank and buy brand new ones for the garage rooftop? I like the idea of a little overhang over the garage doors, because you can put gutters on them and direct the water out of your way. The garage looks great. Knowing how things always go, I think it was wise to make it as big as you did. Things always come up that you want to do or store. You can get the stuff out of your half-storage building that you want to keep and organize them upstairs. I thought the side areas upstairs would be good for storing big things out of the way.

You will need gutters to prevent soil erosion.. the 6 inch K style is what I use. standard is 5 inch, 6 looks better and flows more water. If you do this use the screens so you never have to clean leaves from the gutters.

I feel like you should frame a wall between the garage and the shop on the fiest floor. It will help with stoage and organizing the shop. Leave a large 4' or 5' opening for a doorway between the two spaces.
