Your channel showed up in my feed a couple of months ago and am glad it did. Your content is awesome. I subscribed instantly. I love watching Az and Minion, but mostly like listening to your voice. I don't know what it is but your voice is just mesmerizing. You'd be a great narrator. You've done an amazing job teaching Minion all those tricks/chores he does. I haven't come across another dog that's been trained to do so many things. watching you train Az and looks like he's doing a good job learning. I wish you, Jen and the fur babies a happy New Year! 🎉

55 dislikes? It's crazy that you have haters for literally any reason I imagine they are very dumb reasons. There's a neat little extension for mozilla to return the dislike count. Anyways just wanted to say love the homestead. Nothin like 100 acre home. People just don't seem to get that the house and buildings are not just home but the animals and the land are home as well. Nothing quite as enjoyable as being able to do whatever you want in a little slice a heaven like this.

My aunt had a Jack Russel Terrier, named Blue ( like the cheese my aunt told me lol )....he once took down a huge hawk. We came home from work and there was a huge dead hawk with major talons and everything lying in the grass. I don't know how he did that being so small, but he loved hunting birds. Small birds usually, but then one day a mighty hawk. He was very proud of himself and we were creeped out lol. Reminded me when u said u had a hawk problem.

One benefit of doing things like you have done, is that Jen is now there full time. I’m sure she will have some good input and recommendations as too the layout of the “big house” you will eventually build. You should also just call the new building the big house, I feel like living quarters was good for the temporary living situation, but Big House fits. Wish you both the best of luck, and I will continue to watch your progression. Hoping you have an actual fireplace and an even bigger wood stove, or multiple wood stoves for the big house.

I own a rental and built to two story house for me and my friend lives upstairs. I want to sell both and get two small houses on a section. One for each of us. That way I can be retired after 40 years nursing. Have started the process but we'll see how long it takes me 😁

Idk how they do things in west Virginia. But if you do decide to do a basement i thibk you should make it into a shelter in case SHTF and build it reinforced and safe and i think the audience would love to see what you would chose to do for a SHTF shelter. Maybe this can help with your hawk problem. Have you ever considered chickens? If so get Black Marans. They scare off Hawks. You see, hawks hate Crows. Black chickens look like crows. White ducks are targets. I have all colors of chickens. But because I have three black Marans, I no longer have a Hawk problem. You could have ducks and chickens ?
@ceIIardoor9 ай бұрын
I think he's said something about liking ducks better bc chickens are messy and eat a lot. He also much more prefers duck eggs. I don't think hawks are a *huge* problem for them, and with the new enormous beast dog, I'm sure they'll be less now 😂

Joseph Carter the Mink Man has some great training techniques. His videos from 1.5-2 yrs ago when he fist got his puppy Bindi (Bindi Spike) were great. He trains dogs & mink (yes, mink!) teams to do pest control of rats, mice, & non-native species. Immediate rewards are a big part of training, & it only takes 1-3 sessions to teach his dogs different skills. He starts w/ positive rewards for simply/accidently (e.g.) looking at a crate. Moves on to only rewarding for touching crate w/ nose, moves on to only rewarding if looks into crate, then only once enters the crate. It doesn't seem like much, but his dogs learn how to think & to try things out. Really cool.
