Re: that CD player.. These kids nowadays are buying things that are "retro" or "vintage". They use them and realize that they skip constantly. So then they return it as "not working". What they DON'T understand is the struggle of saying perfectly still while your favorite song is on. Or the "the examination of the bottom of the disks for scratches, the hard exhale onto the disk, the brisk (but not too hard) rub onto the CD, and then fingers crossed and praying it would work" experience us Gen X'rs had. That's something that added to the experience that can be replicated by this current generation.

Yesterday I found an old German book of musical humor entitled Die Musikaliches Späße from 1895...and it had some humorous insights between the Wagner "Treulich geführt" and the Chopin funeral march...in that both pieces of music were originally written for the opposite occasion...and both changed from the major to minor keys (or in the Wagner from minor to major)...

That dvd/vcr combo looked like a Magnavox. If so you could look up the model no. on ebay. Some of those replacement remotes you can buy for 8 or 9 dollars. I bought one for a unit I picked up and it worked great. Universal remotes just don't work for those.

Kevin , again I agree 100% that girl that you bought those plush for was so sweet , I would have done the same thing . Also on the trumpet case the raised part that the trumpet sits on opens up and has storage underneath . I opened one and it had a vintage Gameboy and a few games stored inside it . I guess they just forgot they were there .
