IDEA: Try to use toothed belt and 3 identical cog pulleys. Use one distributor for 12 cyl engine coupled to the main engine camshaft. Then set timings of the first cylinders of each engine at 0⁰ 30⁰ and 60⁰ respectively. Cable distribution from distributor to spark plugs: main engine receives cables 1, 4, 7 and 10, second engine 2, 5, 8 and 11 and third 3, 6, 9, 12. In order to have right firing order. You have to be really accurate with synchronizing these 3 crankshafts. I suggest you to use pulleys with 48 teeth or 36, easier to set angular offsets.

I dont know about the horsepower in an engine, but russian cars are made for war, which means unkillable machine, easy to fix, cheap, reliable... Yes, slow, but reliable. I had few Lada Nivas, I had to pull few times machines heavier than my Lada niva - A truck ( small cargo truck ) and a huge mdfrcking Offroad truck ( jeep whatever ), that was with diesel V8, buig engine, big tires, and stuck in a winter ice mud in the noght... I had no problems pull them out.. My dad had Volga ( old ones, made somewhere in the middle of 70's ) ...This car was able to work with a ducktaped stearing weel - shaft for a week until we've got the spare part we needed to fix the car.... And soooo on, so, on, so on. And no, I am not from Russia.

you guys are great! that looks like good fun! i still think though there needs to be a way to link the torq of the engines together. having them connected through the harmonic balancers is like putting on a supercharger. at the end of the day its only one engine powering everything. some have sugested a engine for every wheel. you could still use the current configuration with some small changes. i cant wait to see where this build goes next!

OMG remind me of the bubble gum cards with the engine bigger than the car and the monster poking up out of the roof. Lol Should be ready for the tractor pulls. What a cool project. I love your engineering and sense of adventure. But I have to say it looked Dangerously top-heavy. I'm surprised two belts lasted as long as they did. The speed reduction box for the prop on my airplane uses a 3 " wide Serpentine.

put another axle in the rear and wrap a track around the two axles to more or less have a rear track under it for grip..it would improve grip and speed.. and put a snowboard under the front tires just ratchet strap them on for skis and a runner iron down the middle of the snowboard for steering it better. thanks for the video guys!
