Bead wires to keep them on the rim, radial wires going from bead-to-bead, and a belt around the tread…. Yep, real tires, just homemade! Maybe use some other materials? How about Flexseal? A flexible epoxy?

The self stabilization at speed is vital. Grip in all conditions is a must. Keep everything as light and strong as possible will give you a grippy sporty response with ride flat capacity. Then for the serious ones for endurance and ultra performance you can play with layers and different materials, graphite etc Kevlar, tread depth.

Great experiment! Maybe you can try using bedliner to re-tred an old tire, or try using it as an inner tube to patch a puncture.

Tire patch *will not work* as they have different elasticity, if the inner patch has more elasticity it will work, but in this case it has less elasticity, thus when the tire will expand the patch will not expand enough, thus it will unglue/separate from the tire after a while, same problem for bedliner/retread as well as when the tire is getting hot or cold, they will not have the same rate nor speed of expansion-contraction ;)

You can try to add some fabric/metal wires, something to add a bit of a structure, to hold everything in place, and after that i think the tyre will last way longer

Patches of jeans sawn together then soak each layer in bed liner 4 - 5 layers would do it then on the 6th layer put 2 inch multi layer square patches soaked in liner to act as tread thus the whole thing becomes a flexible composite.....

👍 wires👍 especially around the bead to help hold it to the rim.. 🛞 After the first layer, apply the wire, then add additional wires after each coating. 🤔 But what about the durability? The surviving tire broke apart during spirited driving. Adding some sort of fabric to the mix might help out with durability a bit.

If you would’ve put metal wire and nylon/mesh in between the layers of Linux just like a steel belted radial it might’ve given it more strength. It would be interesting to coat a bald set of tires with line X and see how well it holds up to all kinds of punishment/punctures gun shot etc.

It is good to try alternative materials! This method eventually worked for Edison when he set about inventing the light bulb! Tires have been made from rubber for SO long - it's a bit boring at this point. I think most of us would be very pleased to have tires made from something else. May I suggest a few materials for you to try? How about sawdust or crushed glass or corn cobs or shredded cardboard. My instincts tell me that any of these have a future in the tire business.

nylon string woven into the tire locking around the nylon strand that goes around the tire bead the way a tire does in a crisscrossing pattern would do a lot. whatever one identifies as a good tread count per inch as to one lair or two... many truck tires are 3 ply to have two nylon wraps over lapping at 45 degrees from the axle over the tire tread making a 90 degree angle to each other with a 3rd wrap going parallel to the axle centerline around the tire all looping around a nylon loop that holds the tire bead on the rim. lots of cheap tires don't have the 3rd ply nor the 4th being a steel reinforced belt around the tire tread. no nylon string, big truck tires are full of 1/16 inch aircraft cable.

Cast some tires/wheels out of epoxy? As in solid/airless tires. Or perhaps metal tires using the hydro forming method? Colin Furzze made himself a set of metal sphere rear wheels for his drift trike by figuring out the shape to start with and then pumping them up with water pressure to make them form into almost completely spherical wheels. Even if they would guarantee an uncomfortable ride, some highly polished metal tries would look pretty nuts on a car. Same goes for a set of crystal clear solid epoxy wheels.
