I think it also supports some audio interfaces so you can record your instruments like on a pc

Thanks Rachel. I have looked at quite a few tutorials on GarageBand by other KZbinrs but yours is much clearer than many of the others. Thanks for doing this and I look forward to seeing more of your videos on this 😊

Great overview! I’ll have to go back and find that backing track video that you made. I’d be interested in a MacOS version of this! (Holy cow, the number of unchecked messages and emails on your Home Screen!) 😮

That's great Rachel, thanks. Looking forward to the next instalments. One question,; how did you get the notes showing on the keyboard keys? Mine just shows C" C3 etc. I have looked in settings but can't find it.

Nice work Rachel.. funny I think I know GarageBand.. then you tell me something, I’d forgotten, you remind me of.. one thing.. audio interface. On a iPad don’t want loads of wires and connections. I have been using a little Joyo.. plugs into lightning or usb +.. depending on the iPad . Jo x

Terrific overview. Why pay $1200 for an OP-1 or other standalone synth when you can have this for free on your iPad. What is also interesting is that Logic Pro looks almost identical to GarageBand if you turn off advanced features. GarageBand is very powerful. Save $200 and start here before graduating to Logic Pro for the advanced mixing features. Looking forward to the next lesson.

Hello, Thanks, and Good Wishes for 2025 from the ice and frigid winds of New Hampshire. I am old, and slowing down. My Grands would laugh at this question: Is it possible to add chords in a track , 1 stroke at a time? I do best going really slowly with any "data entry". Thanks, again.

It's a great question. In theory yes, it would mean stopping pressing record a lot though. What you could do though is when you are recording your strums, slow the tempo of the song right down so it gives you time to get ready, then you can speed it up to listen back to. I am hoping to more Garageband done very soon and I will try and cover it.

Excellent, thanks. I will try tomorrow. Much appreciated. As an aside for old folks huddled in a small room for warmth, do you think ear buds with wire or plastic strings would be quieter? Another strange question, but we do like to sit together evenings, but my picking away can become annoying. I feel like I must be on the other end of your teaching spectrum, age wise, you are terrific! J
