One thing you might mention to folks sometime is that if you're going to store your pressure washer in an un-heated garage or shed over the winter, water pump anti-freeze is a must to keep the pump (which will always have some water left inside of it) from freezing and bursting. B&S makes a good pump antifreeze that comes in an aerosol can you can just spray into the hose inlet.

I was VERY surprised that there was no advice to change the oil after the first 20 to 30 minutes of use to flush out manufacturing debris and the finings from rings/cylinders/valves/bearings settling in to place. It’s always a joy to see JB show the drained oil from that first change… it’s very rewarding to see that stuff taken out.

I used to operate one of these things all summer long at the warehouse I used to work at. We’d hook it up to a ride on Factory Cat floor scrubber full of water out in the truck yard and used it to spray off the loading bay doors. It worked great until one of my coworkers left the hose line rubbing up against the muffler guard, it proceeded to melt a hole into the hose and cause water to spray out of it at high pressures. That happened on the last day I was there too.

3 points 1) Never run w/o water hose turned on, 2) use pump saver/anti-freeze in winter/off-season, 3) be CAREFUL w/the higher pressure nozzles, you can do damage (like take the paint right off your car), learned from school of hard knox)

I bought a Yamaha power-stroke 3100 PSI 2.4GPM with a MA190cc Yamaha engine with electric start which is pretty much a Subaru engine with Yamaha branding because there are little to no differences. It starts first pull usually so electric start isn’t going to be used until we are sick of pulling. The 190cc is pretty powerful and it has a soap tank but we never used soap so it doesn’t matter to us. I don’t remember the price we paid but I say it’s worth it. No issue so far after 3 years. Bought it at Costco.

That's funny, Champion is known for their generators as well, but I have their 3200psi pressure washer. It looks amazingly similar to that Generac. I've had it about 5 years now and it still fires up on the first crank :) It has a two-tank reservoir on it for soap and...whatever else you might want to load it with, lol. Came with 5 nozzles but in truth I've only ever used two. The green one for pressure washing and the black for soap dispensing. I didn't find teflon tape to be necessary as each piece that attaches has a rubber o-ring that makes a good seal. I did upgrade to an aftermarket longer, more flexible hose and I added quick connects to all the hose/wand connections.

Good video ! I've got a couple or three question/comments. #1, When I worked at Sears, back in the 1990's, Generac did not make carb kits. If you had a carb problem, replace the carb! #2, I see no oil ck/chng plug on the pump. Does this mean you never chng pump oil ??? #3, why put "Teflon tape" on the threads when the fitting is sealed with an "O-ring" internally ?? Force of habit. All in all, good video!! As far as a "soap injector/mixer", go to a dealer that does nothing but power washers where they can sell you a "Up stream soap injector". It screws on to the pump, at the garden hose fitting, the garden hose hooks up to it, then your soap hose goes into whatever container you are using for soap. note; YOU HAVE TO REGULATE THE MIX GOING INTO THE PUMP. Once set, you are in business.

Thanks for sharing this George! Not sure mid there are carb kits available for this model but they are generally easy to work on. No oil plug on the pump. I used to work at a car wash and always was putting Teflon tape on fittings no matter what to stop all leaks. I put that on everything regardless. Thanks for watching bud!

Stick with the 30w oil, these small engines need all the help they can get as they work hard and don't have a oil filter.

Love your videos. You pay lip service to the "no soap tank" issue. Those of us in southern climes have a need to use soap or other "chemicals" for moss, lichen, etc. Is there an add on soap tank for Generac? I did a cursory search and couldn't find an answer. Maybe in the owner's / parts manual?

Yeah, I considered that but seemed a bit cumbersome. Went with the #7122. Has a soap tank AND pressure adjust knob. I did give you credit in Generac's "where did you hear about us" section.

I like these ones and have heard good things about them. I just got the Blackmax 212cc 3100psi pressure washer I believe. From Walmart because that's the only place local to me that has pressure washers that aren't $800b on up. I paid $250 on sale. I had the model under it the 2500psi last year with very good luck but my grandpa needed one so I gave it to home and got myself the next model up. Over all a good machine a Ducar made engine and its a Honda clone like yours. Mines got a soap tank but I never use it as I have a foam cannon attachment. I don't like sending chemicals threw the pump and over the seals. I feel like the Blackmax will serve me good for a while since I'll do yearly service on the engine like all the other small engines I've got and during the iowa winters it will live in the basement keeping the pump from freezing. I have a Simpsons 4000psi 3.5gal/min with a Honda engine and AAA triplex pump. Comes with 50ft braided hose. Love it. Yours got an Axial cam pump. It may wear down faster. Never let engine idle more than 2min, keep water flow to cool down your pump. If anything happens, you can still replace that pump pretty easily down the road. Very good Video as always JB !!

Well done JB one of the best powerwashers on the market for the price. I think Jake ordered ours on Amazon in 2018 for Eliminator Performance and did a video on set up and maintenance and we still use this unit today. As far a performance i can honestly say the only issue we had was the breakage of the inside outer edge of the recoil assembly and that is likely from us pulling the recoil rope on an angle. Luckily we have an account with Canada Power Technologies that carry Generac parts and were pleased to purchase a complete new recoil without decal for $11 when Generac wanted $80. Our original purchase price was $400 with next day shipping (all dollar amounts are Canadian). 5 years of heavy use and still going strong, just a reminder to all viewers annually we drain the water, pull the recoil a few times (hose and wand off) then spray B&S pump saver into the pump for winter storage and lubrication although you can use antifreeze of auto or RV type .

Hi. Great videos. I have the same pressure. The on-off switch is working intermittently. It turns on but when I turn it off sometimes it won't shut off. I have to pill the plug wire off the plug to shut it off. Any ideas? Thanks.
