Eleiko it's out of his mind to price the rack at over 5k. You can literally buy at least 5 powder coated power racks if you wanted to every time they rust. You will still come ahead. I bought the fitness reality power rack.and had it for about a month in the living room before my wife kicked us both out to the back yard. I managed to be able to come back with some begging involve same day I got kicked out. But not the rack. It been over 1 year out side and the rack has no rust. Definitely a market for galvanize power racks but not at a 5k price point.
@rambojohn71182 жыл бұрын
I agree that Eleiko is priced to high and in my opinion for the financially well off buyer.
@dandeveny45132 жыл бұрын
All eleiko stuff is crazy expensive, why would you expect this to be any different? the pricing seems inline with their other stuff, if anything they would be out of their mind to change their model, as they have obviously been successful with it for a very long time. I wondered why they use galvo over stainless.
@andressalazar43792 жыл бұрын
@@dandeveny4513 True. Been expensive. And true they would be out of their mind to change their model that is working for them. Obviously making profit 📈 since they still business. Also true they had choose stainless steel instead of galvanize. Probably would've look more of prestigious power rack. But above all this. Still insane no to open a market for those like myself that can't afford a 5k rack. Their sell definitely would increase. But that's my opinion. They must have a reason why their not doing it. But not been innovative definitely no bueno. Look at Rep fitness. Their new attachments for their power rack are awesome and at half the price. and bring more value 👏. Not to mention you can do more sorts of work outs. And been super innovative in their products with a definitely reasonable price. But to summarize. You.ll have a good day. Back when it was impossible to get anything, I had to build a squat rack out of pressure-treated 4x4's. Metal pipes for safeties, plumbing hardware for j-hooks, and concrete weight plates. It wasn't pretty, but it got the job done. I was lucky to snag a Wonderbar from Fringe Sports. It's been outdoors since July '20, so nearing two years and the barbell is still fine. No rust, and the bearings still spin well. Admittedly, I live in California, so it's only rained like three times since then.

I keep my old (15 years) cheap box store powder coat inclinable bench outdoors on the concrete slab patio behind the back door. It's been out there for five years in coastal New England, no major rust so far. I use the lying hamstring curl and leg extension attachment all winter. Lifting under the winter night sky is beautiful for about 3 sets of each, nothing excessive. I do them last. I also leave a cheap old box store barbell out as a landmine, and have protected the corner of the back stair for use as a landmine terminal. I have horse stall matts deployed, and when weather is amenable do overhead squats, front squats, snatch, clean and jerk, etc with Vulcan Alphas. I do RDLs from a couple of dining room chairs. I'm considering bringing my shorty 5 ft bearing bar and a couple of plates to work so I can get after it in the parking lot as soon as the last student is picked up, or bring the barbell to the beach. My main gym is what we call a 3 season room or a shade porch. It's a room added to the north side of the house, with top hinged windows on 3 sides. They stay open during summer rain. When the leaves are on it's shady, with a cross breeze. When the leaves are down it's full of light. The Slab is right behind it. "Works good." The truck gets to stay protected in the garage. I do grease the cheap old barbell and the bearing on the leg attachment. Cheap and effective!

Hey coop. Maybe add in one of those cable pulley set ups. I bought 2 cheap ones and use them on my outdoor pull up bar all the time. The ones you can load plates on . They are great and haven't died yet and it's been 6 months in the Australian heat, stormsz hail etc and I just give the bearings a little.lube spray before I workout and they are golden. The ones I bought come with an adapter for standard and Olympic weights. You can also get an extra pulley to mount down low to convert it into a low cable instead of high. You'd probably need to attach it with a couple bolts but I plan on getting one and attaching it to the wall under the pull up bar. The other cheaper option for outdoor weights is the sand filled plastic kind. They are not very accurate with their weight measurements but for outdoor use they won't rust, flake or break. They are waterproof and sealed up. I've only broken one and it was me dropping a bar on a funny angle. You can get 90kgs/200 pounds for around the 220us dollar mark. I bought a 300kg payload garden wagon to move them about to different stations. I also Jerry rigged it to make it into a sled kind of 🤣🤣. They spend all day and night outside and have been great for a cheaper option. The brand is cortex endurasheild cheap but for outdoor I was pleasantly surprised at their robust construction . These weight with the cable pulleys really improved my workouts because I could add in heaps more exercises that previously I was unable to do with my indoor set up.

I’m surprised Eleiko didn’t use stainless steel for that rack. I’ve seen a few custom made stainless racks and aside from being corrosion resistant and insanely rigid, they were also beautiful. They required no paint and looked like works of art.
@kostasanton52862 жыл бұрын
i would assume cost? also galvanized coating is quite scratch resistant considering the way attachments fit on a power rack, although not sure how stainless behaves on that regard
@SkylerKing2 жыл бұрын
@@kostasanton5286 galvanization is tough, but it’s still just a surface treatment, where as stainless is stainless all the way through. It’s not uncommon to see galvanized steel that’s been scratched to have rust where it was scratched, whereas stainless is always corrosion resistant, all the way through. Stainless is expensive (nearly 4x the price of regular mild steel, in my area) but because it’s Eleiko, I’d assume that wouldn’t be an issue. A stainless rack would cost a premium, but people who buy Eleiko are typically willing to pay a premium for gym equipment.

Powder coat is not a spray. It's a bath of resin flakes (the core of every paint) which is vibrating. The vibration has the same effect as a spray except it covers all sides including the inside. It is then baked in a autoclave. Much more durable than a rattle can spray.
