Team Basement, as long as the ceilings are high and the radon is low. I like the easy temperature control and stability, not to mention not having to give up a garage.

Yes,sir! My basement is just shy of 3,000 square feet. I’ve dedicated roughly 700 square feet of it to my gym space. My gym has a fireplace in it with a full bar and a wine cellar attached to it. Plus, I have my three car garage open for car things. Basement gyms are the best.

Once I get moved to North Idaho from my current 20’X15’ bedroom gym, I’ll send you pictures of my home gym, 1,100 square feet of a purpose built pole barn. My rack with high and low pulleys and 350 lb stack, one of my benches, and dumbbell rack were all home built. My North Idaho home gym is 18’ tall and will include a climbing wall, climbing rope, and ceiling suspended Olympic Rings. It has taken me years to build up, but will do everything my family will need to stay fit on a budget.

I workout in the best of both locations. My gym is in my daylight basement. Warm enough in the winter and it runs cooler down there in the summer... perfect balance!

On that first vid. You can use the bells of steel jammer arms on the cheaper racks like the 810xlt. You just need spacers and a clamp. But it works pretty well.

1:55 still costs money. That's like $25 worth of pool noodles at the $1.25 store, pallet wrap, a semi rigid bar in center (?) $45/45lb plate, $20 worth of plywood.
@qreed672 жыл бұрын
Actually, the noodles only costed about $5 for a box of 20. The wrap cost about $8; the PVC was free left over scraps and the plumbing hardware was maybe $13. The 45# weight could be substituted with water container(s) or bags of sand which are inexpensive. Here is the inspiration video showing how to build it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGOcpqZvbZJ5i68

Basement Brandon has done a few reviews on their stuff. I have their bumpers and they are great, my buddy picked up a whole gym worth of stuff: power bar, kettle bells, bumpers, adjustable bench. Their b bench sucks, the kettlebells are good, and his power bar is great, they just have had issues with consistency from batch to batch as Brandon points out in his reviews.

Please do a review/comparison on manual incline treadmills. Looks like they're some of the most affordable cardio equipment you can get. The nicer ones look like they can even be used in place of a sled. They're so much more realistic for most people's home gym than spending 1000s each on a curved manual treadmill and a weighted sled. The reviews on these are nonexistent so it's hard to tell what's junk and what's a good buy.

I know it's blasphemy, we have a car parked in our garage. We only have 1 spot outside to fit a car. Full squat rack in the basement with bar, plates and some dumbbells is all I need, but maybe a plate loadable pully system is in the future. It's nice and conditioned down there, but I would love a ceiling that is maybe a couple feet higher.
