Stupid question, but how does the trolley attach to the rack itself? it looks like it has to slide down from the top of the rack, which would mean taking apart part of the rack. Am i correct?

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the kzbin.infoUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

For those wondering why the hitch pin will not work on the Sorinex rack, pay attention to the fact that although both offer 1" holes on all sides of the rack, Sorinex makes theirs all completely level. At first glance, this seems great; however, Rogue offsets them for a reason. In combination with crossmembers that figure this into the design, it allows for crossmembers to be level (Monster rack vs Monster Lite rack crossmember appearance) as well as bolts to be used on adjacent holes. If you pay attention to some of Sorinex's XL systems in certain configurations, bolts have to be left missing from certain crossmember spots because the holes are already bolted from another direction and therefore occupied. In my opinion, this is one of the reasons why Rogue does this better.

Good point Scott, always appreciate your detailed input.
@hotrod2841
@hotrod2841 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is something most people don't pay attention to but is definitely an engineering improvement over Sorinex and other similar racks. One thing I would like to see Rogue do is make the footplate on the bottom of the uprights a large symmetrical 5" x 5" piece or something similar so that the uprights are structurally supported on all 4 sides and can be rotated if the attachment level on one side isn't exactly where you want it. The offset hole spacing allows for more exact attachment levels for personal preference so why not take advantage of it (i.e. every 1", instead of every 2"). Of course you would want to make sure you figure out which side is most exact for you before you assemble the rack. I hate that Rogue is doing the keyhole cutouts and wish they wouldn't have. You're making an even bigger hole that will weaken the structural integrity of the rack and having different holes on 2 sides may be an issue for non keyhole attachments if they were to do what I am suggesting above. Besides, the only reason they did it was so that their attachments will only work on the rack they are selling. All their newly released Monster Series attachments have keyhole pins, ensuring that they only work for the Monster Rack. Smart business-wise, but definitely sucks for consumers.

Hi Coop! Thanks for pumping out these types of videos, I love your reviews! Would you happen to know or remember how far out in front of the rack the 48” inch version of Rogue’s Lever Arms extend when at their lowest? I’m trying to determine if I have enough space. Also, is the shorter variant just as functional as Rogue’s 48” counterpart? Thank you in advance for your response and keep up the great content!

It appears you would actually need BOTH sets of lever arm lengths to perform all the desired exercises. If you look close enough on the rogue website...it appears they are using the SHORT lever arms with anything done inside the rack and the LONG lever arms with any exercise done outside the rack. You can also see in order to shoulder press...they have the bottom pads resting on the safety straps, which means you need the short arms...and must use them inside the rack in order to perform seated military press or bench press. Now you need the long lever arms to do such things as bent over rows outside the rack, unless you want a really awkward range of motion. From what it appears, unless I am missing something, you would need BOTH sets of arms to perform the exercises otherwise you are extremely limited.

The theory that cost them left for the smaller lever is wrong, they make these out of stock tubing which they purchase so it doesnt matter if they cut it to 35" or 48" it takes one entire tubing to so and they can still only get 2 lever arms out of one stock tubing. So basically they are different sizes but creating them claims teh same amount of tubing so to rogue their cost is the same for both.

Rogue has a distinct advantage in the fitness industry. Due to their devout following of unwavering Crossfitters, they can literally come out with anything and know that the CF crowd will buy them up like crazy regardless of how ridiculous it is
@JasonCloseOK
@JasonCloseOK 5 жыл бұрын
I guess the question is: what products do they have that are ridiculous? I think what they are doing us pretty normal. Rogue needs $$, & they need to extract $$ from residual customers. People aren't going to buy new $3k racks every few years, so Rogue has to keep those customers engaged through accessories. It's the same model most smart businesses use. Sell the platform once, & then make residual $$ through a market (i.e. iOS & Android). The other thing is, Rogue stuff has very high quality. I've only bought one thing from them that I regret (dumbbells). Any other accessory has been worth it. I'm one of the few owners of a Rogue Wingspan, & I've even got a video review of it up. I had never used a single piece of Rogue equipment before I bought it, other than barbells. It was worth every penny.

Coop, what do you think about barbarian line? They make similar arms but for 250 bucks. What's makes me want to buy barbarian line is because they make half racks with a lat pulldown and rowing system. What also seems nice about it is the weight stack, it goes to 275lbs. The price is almost 1700 dollars so I am expecting it to be a nice rack. The space it takes up is really appealing to be, a little bigger than a half rack and the versatility is great! Also the arms they make can be used on their half racks :) from what it looks like, you can do similar exercises to that of hammer strength with these arms.

Here I don't have access to rouge (I do but shipping is just expensive as the products), sornex, elite fts, titan etc. Here In Sweden, brands like Barbarian line, Recoil, eleiko and body solid is what we got. Of course there is a lot of other companies producing equipment but these are some of the bigger ones. But the home gym market is growing here as well. Thanks for the response! :)

Excelllent review! Am considering a Monster rack, with the shorter arms inside the rack, for bench presses and seated military presses - mainly due to shoulder problems requiring a neutral grip. Any comments please on the viability of this idea? Thanks.

Hi. So what is the actual difference between the lever trolly accessory designed for the monster rack & monster light rack. Also, I’m sure I have seen a video somewhere Where there was also straight handle & bar attachment. Any info appreciated. 👍

Hey coop, quick question. My arms are wobbly. I'm not sure if it's the way I installed them or if that's how it is supposed to be. Are yours wobbly?

Garage Gym Reviews did you ever find out if they work with the spotter arms outside? I’m trying to decide whether I should go for the short or long arms but the long arms don’t fit inside for the shoulder and chest exercises I want to use it for.

@@raulhernandez6736 LOL just checked, they do have their Frankenstein version of it. They look like a bitch to adjust since they are bolt on, but at a $175 as opposed to $1000 , its rather tempting.

Correct me if i'm wrong but these look like the 48" and the shorter arms in the rack that you referred to are actually 35". Is this a mistake?

I received the ML version and for some odd reason they do not use rollers with bearings in them...just a bolt through a metal sleeve. Unfortunately, my rollers do not roll, regardless of what I do with the set screws. Adjusting the trolley up and down means dragging the "rollers" up the post, which is not as easy as it looks in your video. Do all four of your rollers actually roll when it's moving up and down? I'm working with Rogue on the issue and they're telling me the engineer says that they may not roll, they just need to be in contact with the post. I understand why they have the more premium options on the Monster version and not the ML version...but eliminating the bearing rollers on the ML seems ridiculous since those rollers, it seems to me anyway, are the most critical part for smooth operation.

Hey Coop, thanks for the review. Do you think the trolley system would work well with a Rogue fold-out wall-mount racks? I'm limited for space and I'm considering downsizing to the RML-3WC but these jammer arms have my eye.
