You should've worked in the neighborhood I grew up in. Around Christmas time, the sanitation workers could get an easy $1000 "gratuity" from the residents of my block. I could only imagine what they accumulated throughout the neighborhood.

The real hero here is the mother or grandmother: she baked the cookies, she made two packages, she dressed the child in the exact same neon yellow shirt like the garbagemen and she allowed her child/ grandchild to do this. Our Garbage Professionals are absolutely fantastic in our world- they bring smiles to so many weekly, and truly deserve more recognition. As a 63 year old Man now , I can safely say that kid will never forget this experience and adventure & kindness of those people who made his day feel extra special. When I was a youngster about his age , we had Garbage men and street sweepers & powerline maintenance workers who would come through our subdivision neighborhood on regular basis and as I watched with eagerness these “ Hero’s” of my youth would wave & occasionally stop & take me & my friends to their trucks to show us how some things worked & let us maybe push a “ Magic button , or move a lever “ like in this video & bring the monster truck into action. I STILL REMEMBER almost every adventure to this very day now , and my 3 grandsons delight in the same experiences I had as a child also . Thanks for sharing this beautiful moment with us all.
