Nice one David.. We have some spaghetti squash that are close to 12 months old in the pantry.. Am leaving them until the end of December just to see how they go.. I think with the heat we get here that the seeds will have started to germinate in the fruit though :-/ I have a clip for the "Share the Seed" group coming up & want to link a few other sharing groups so shall have to have a chat with you methinks ;-) Cheers mate & all the best..

Hey wow that is a great. Thanks. Let me know what you have in mind. I should be ready to post my video in the next few days. Thanks for wanting to help cross promote the seed sharing group and of course I am interested in the other groups too ;) I am more than happy to mention what you are planning to do in my upcomming video too. Just let me know what it is exsactly, so I can give it a good representation. I have some spaghetti squash too. Kids love it :) If you want we could mix the seeds if yours make it. Would make the strain stronger in future years. Thanks Mate :) Talk soon. David.

Amazing load of seed you got! will you be showing the final take? I just would LOVE to see how many seeds you got total. Awesome job.

Thanks hey :) It was kind of difficult Luke with my family all wanting to eat all the produce to give an exsact feedback. But what you see in the video is the minimum one could expect from a 2x4 m vegetable bed using such a system. All in all I was very pleased with the experiment. I think I will experiment again. So just to give an estimated round up. It was: 40 pea pods, This was not as much as I thought I'd get. 300 runner bean pods. Well good and I will need taller Sunflowers next time. a big jar of sunflower seeds or 30 sunflowers, Quite OK. 5 sweet corn cobs, They went in to soon with them not being big enough. 15 small zucchini + 6 big marrows + 3 hikido + to medium sized pumpkins. Very good except for the slugs :) and around a bucket of Achocha. More than enough for salads. Best wishes David.

Nice return you got! Envy you the runner beans. I had seeds to set out but outside influences hit me badly in Spring and I was late getting stuff out so the runner beans had to get put aside till next year.

Happens in gardening hey. You plan for the best, but usually try to get it all done in the short window you have and some things just don't make it. Happens to me all the time too :)

I have made an experiment with the milpa too this year. But in a larger scale. Around 60 to 70 squaremeters. There was corn, beans and pumpkin. But lots of the beans were overgrown by weeds so the harvest was not as I expected. Pumpkins were ok. Corn was great. I did not use sweetcorn, but the kind which ist used for making flour. I have made a trilogy of clips about this experiment you might be interestet in. The sowing of corn Körner Speisemais im Garten anbauen sowing of the beans Die drei Schwestern, Mais Kürbis Bohnen the growing Die drei Schwestern im Garten It#s in german language. hope you don't mind The harvest will be coming soon. By the way, the kind of cucumber you show at the end of your clip Ia grow too. Enormous growth, but so far not even 3 Fruits. :(

No problem am over now to take a look. My mother is German so I speek it. Love doing field scale stuff :) Strange with the Achocha. Is it your first year trying that paticular variaty or have you used the seeds in other years.
@rrhase10 жыл бұрын
Work With Nature No, it's the first year and the plant I bought. Others I know are harvesting buckets of fruits, but not me. May be it's because it's growing in the greenhouse. I should give it a try outdoors.

Ah that could be it. If you wan't to I can send you some seeds. Might be also worth trying out hey. Best wishes David.

Bravo@!!!, here in Miami fl, i live in an apt, I do plant alot of seeds wherever I can, This last year I have planted Mango trees around the neighborhood, Date palms, Papaya and casaba squash, More than that if I think about the fruits like watermelon and cantaloupes that were removed and discarded, But hey,... At least the trees are doing well,makes me happy to help feed animals, people too. CHEERS@!!!

It takes time though for them to warm up :) Wont be going back to Ireland for quite some time :( but have some interesting traveling coming up soon. This will also be conected to my video making on workwithnature. So thanks for asking hey, but can't spill the beans just yet. Have a great day. David.
