Hazel don't b worrying about not been DIY experts like everyone else you learn as u go. And some of us are still learning after buying our home's 20 / 30 years ago. The more paint u put on the fence the better protection it is and it will last a good few years. But it does look great.

Definately the swing and shed etc in a different colour, I would say in a darker colour with lighter pops if you want to, bright flowers against dark colours look fab! Looking forwards to seeing the next one X

I love the fences as they are as it looks more rustic and nice to see the grain come through. If the shed bothers you paint same as fence but if you don’t mind it do it a different grey and the focal points the same as the fence. Seat different to fence. Plant a jasmine or climbing rose to grow over the seat that will look beautiful. Think on the paving it’s an algae build up. You can get paving paint to. Definitely put some lights on the wall trellis. Loving seeing you two excited and doing this project. 🌸🌻

See if you can look t your garden seating furniture and match the deeper colour as a contrast paint for your shed and bench that way it will look really coordinated

Hi Hazel love a garden video as we're all doing ours now, i painted my fences using a fence brush , i find it relaxing ,shed same colour, if u need to paint fence n move bushes in front we throw a dustsheet over it x

I’m currently painting all my fence too, I started with the sprayer but tbh gave up and have gone back to the brush to get a better coverage…whichever way, it takes SO much paint, it costs a fortune! 🤣 love your changes, it looks fab…I think dark contrast for the shed & bench will look good and add some dimension xx

Will be great when your finished I used the trellis idea on my walls which changes the whole look of the wall, I use wet and forget every year after jet washing the patio. It’s soo easy to spray on it eats the algae built up. 🐝🌸

For you patio, we painted our slabs with white masonry paint and then we did a pretty stensil over the top in black and it's really freshened it up, you just need to also paint over a sealant, a cheaper and effective way of changing patio 😊😊

Future tip...get a scrubbing brush and bucket of diluted bleach water solution and give the french a scrub to remove green moss/ mould before painting...it helps keep it away and your paint looking fresh longer

I would say the shed and swing a darker colour so doesn’t all blend in the same but rather stand out but it’s upto you really how you would like it … we found the spray painting takes up more paint when we done the one year spray and the year before using a brush but the spray was quicker just used more paint and cost more so depends I guess with what life style you have or maybe which one you buy . We brought a pressure washer for our slabs as couldn’t afford to replace yet and made all the difference and can use when you need , people charging a lot more to clean them then us buying a device and doing. Loving your garden so far , can’t wait to see more x

Fences look really nice, love the colour .!!....Don't pay anyone to jet / pressure wash your patio, it's a waste of money, just buy one & do it yourselves, really easy to use or borrow one from friends or family just to clean it this time !!

The fence is coming on great. The one coat allows the grain to show through. I think some contrast on the shed would look good. Anything to do with gardens is so expensive.

id invest in a paint sprayer they can be used inside and outside and give better coverage than the hand pump. I know some can be expensive but they are a good investment.

Sage green for a contrast plus we painted our ugly looking patio slabs instead of replacing them they came up lovely much cheaper plus white pebbles for around any edging x

Buy a jet washer it will be cheaper than getting someone to do it & then just paint the patio. It’s all looking great!

We had that fence sprayer and found the same issue! It doesn’t come out and coat them great at all! It’s definitely not you or being a beginner ha! It’s not a great sprayer!! Looks good!! X

Tip for painting fences a lighter Color. Buy a cheap emulsion paint water that down and do a few base coats so the wood soaks it in. Then once dry do a top coat with the fence paint ! Xx
