Garden room cedar soffit, UPVC fascia and artificial grass on the roof

We are using cedar for the soffit on this job, its western red and a T&G profile, 18mm thick with a 84mm coverage.
The fascia is full replacement black fascia UPVC board and is fixed with polytop nails.
Amy already bonded the rubber roof down previously, so with a quick sweep and clean we are good to fit the artifical grass and secure with Grass fix and also use the rubber roof trims to mechanically hold it too.
I appreciate its not to everyones taste but we like it and so does the customer. And lets face it, its better than looking out onto a massive black rubber roof.
Also we have used flitch beams on the roof, so possibly good for a golfer! Driving range straight down that massive garden.
I can just see it now, suns rising, your in your pants, big cigar, golf club, bottle of something strong...........WHACKKKKKKKKK!!!!!
what could possibly go wrong?

I've just completed my own garden room build, completely based on your videos and methods. The whole process went perfectly, thanks to your attention to detail and thorough explanations in these vids. Knowing the reason things are done makes them much easier to understand and replicate. I think I've watched them all now! Great work all of you!

Great video. Instructive as always. I showed my wife the astroturf roof and suggested I do that on our summerhouse. She wouldn't go for it. I said "but Liam likes it". That didn't sway her. 🤣🤣

I’m a carpet fitter by trade and the fact your talking about pile in astroturf. Most carpet fitters don’t have a clue. 😂 But yeah your right, the theory is that you set pile so that you always walk into it. For viewing pleasure it’s better to look at it stood up. 🙏 Very innovative awesome to watch as always! 🙏

After about 25 years of trying to dig metal out of holesaws, I realised that it's much easier just to spin the cutter off the Arbor and then knock the metal/wood against the pilot bit. Your terminal driver can thank me later😁👍

@@contourbikecam3425 Yeah, it works sometimes, but not if it's a thick bit of metal or wood unfortunately. There have been all sorts of quick release and spring assisted hole saws over the years, I've found the best is a Starrett cutter and a pair of water pump pliers 👍

Been in the building trade 35 years, always told by building inspectors to leave an air gap between insulation and the bottom of the roof covering. This is because if vapour is to form inberween it will form regardless snd it’ll soak into the roof decking causing the deck to eventually break down. An air gap allows air to constantly circulate and let vapour to escape. Just what I’ve always been told to comply with building regs
