I have no words to explain the awesomeness that is your band. I had the pleasure of seeing you in Philly and got to meet Bridget. I'm 53 but acted like a schoolboy. Don't stop making music. Each of you brings a part to the table that makes your band unique. Not just the voices or instruments, it goes deeper than that, I wish you all the best!

What the hell is going on? A pop band that can actually play...intelligently, skilfully, soulfully. Great vocal harmonies, seemingly effortless interplay. The individuals are great...the whole even better. And they all understand what few do...less is more. Not a superfluous note, nor a rampant ego.
@joatlanta0019 жыл бұрын
Joseph Armand I know. Amazing isn't it?
@josepharmand61179 жыл бұрын
+Jo Cera Indeed it doesn't. Bridget is a killer! And it gives them a unique 'tight looseness'. But unlike most jazz musos they have far greater pop sensibility, far less musical ego, and they respect the song.

Wow, another unbelievable performance by this incredible group. I cannot believe I'm about to say this, but I have to ask Bridget maybe consider lightening up just a tad on the right hand so as not to get the string buzz and slap that happens a bit in this tune and becomes a wee bit distracting from the otherwise pure tones and tight, tight, tight vocal harmonies.. To McDuck, you have amazing control with the horn. I find it amazing how you can keep your volume limited with just the right amount of air flow. You are a master, sir! Thank you for not overpowering. To Rachel, your vocals and delivery are so AMAZING, I'm speechless. You go down SMOOTH E V E R Y T I M E ! ! ! To Mike, like McDuck, your control and touch on the skins is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Your snare in every song is soooo sweet sounding, your fills are tremendous, your vocals are pure and powerful, you are a RARE talent. To Bridget, you BLOW ME AWAY with your execution on the upright and your sweet, sweet voice. THERE ARE TIME WHEN i CANNOT STOP watching you perform for an ENTIRE video. Do you understand LSD, I find you REMARKABLE!!!!

***** I'd imagine that she's going hard on the right hand so that the bass can be HEARD, though I can see a pickup on the bass it kind of looks like they are all just playing 'unplugged'

***** I think she is going for more volume there too... and the singers voice just melts me, lol
@justforfun-om7kz7 жыл бұрын
I love the string buzz, and the semi slap bass sound. To me, it's just another part of the percussion, making up for the lack of a bass drum. There is no way Bridgette can do anything wrong. Actually, none of them have any musical shortfalls. The absolutely best. And that's from a "singer--songwriter" folkie type Joni Mitchell / Bob Dylan fan. I have spent hours and hours listening to them on KZbin for free. Tomorrow I'll go out and buy everything they have on CD. I just hope some of that money gets into their pockets. I want to support this excellent music.

I love this song. I hope it's this stark when they record it. For me, it seems their producers add too much crap. These kids write songs designed to be played live with minimalist arrangements. And they fill in all the empty spots beautifully - be it a cool riff or gorgeous background vocals. With LSD, less is more. That's why their performances and live studio videos are so much better than their produced songs.

I've been a professional audio engineer in the music business for 25 years and I must agree with the comments below - the sonic quality of their records is terrible! 'Fun Machine' isn't too bad but 'Bad Self Portraits' is downright unlistenable. It's such a shame because I LOVE THIS BAND!! They are one of the best bands I have ever seen in all my years in the business. i much prefer to watch this video and 'You Go Down Smooth' on Colbert (which is AWESOME!). Now if I could only get a great version of 'Seventeen'. If anyone from LSD reads this, hit me up - I can help you.

Phenomenal band, but I wish the guitatist would stick to guitar. I do think the trumpet often fits the song, but he's not very good at playing it.
@ocramrafr8 жыл бұрын
+Doctor Feelfunny He's played trumpet his whole life and majored in it at the New England Conservatory of Music. He only picked up a guitar well into his 20's because the band needed a chordal instrument.= and admits to still struggling on the guitar.
@doctorfeelfunny5848 жыл бұрын
I didn't know he majored in trumpet at the New England Conservatory of Music, but I have to admit I didn't research his background before commenting. I think he sounds pretty amateurish/unsure on the horn and wish he'd exclusively play the guitar.
@ocramrafr8 жыл бұрын
+Doctor Feelfunny They all met at NEC as students there. He put the band together. I think you're mistaking his style for "amateurish/unsure", and I have to admit, I don't often like his style either. I just found it funny, ironic really, since most of the negative comments about his musicianship have to do with his guitar playing. Check out his playing on their cover of "Faith", or "Rich Girl", it's a bit brighter than his usual down cast bluesy style. You might like that more.
@doctorfeelfunny5848 жыл бұрын
His guitar-playing seems very basic/minimalist to me. Again, it's subjective, but I prefer the bass to handle the leads and most solos while the guitar acts as rhythm section with the drummer. Even if he were capable, I wouldn't welcome flashy jazz quitar solos in their act as it would distract from the "family" feel of the unit. Incredible band. Can't wait to get my ears on Side Pony!
