Hey friends! We plant our garden in a market garden style because we do sell garden boxes throughout the growing season. We find planting in this way provides the most produce from the space that we have. I have planted celery in different locations around the yard hoping that they find a place to grow well. My sister in law gardens in 1/4 of our big garden in case you noticed that you didn’t see the whole garden. How is your garden coming? Thanks for watching, Annette 🌺

Your garden looks great! I thought I was the only one dealing with wind and sun damage. Sorry you lost some trees. I'm hoping you get some rain. We've got too much rain. We're soaked!

Thanks Rich! I think this is the last year we are planting fruit trees. The smaller fruit bushes seem to do much better here. We woke up to a 1/2 inch of rain this morning. We are so grateful. Hopefully the sun comes and gets your garden growing. Take care. 🌺

50 feet of carrots is amazing! I love everything you’re growing and your garden setup Annette! I’ve also never grown corn can’t wait to see how your peaches and cream corn does! And LOVE the herb garden and the extra beds and greenhouse you have!!! 😊❤

Thanks Tammy! I hope the corn does well, it’s so yummy. We have planted around 4500 carrot seeds so far. Of course not all will germinate but we should get a good amount. I may plant more in 2 weeks, probably another 1500. I seriously love my herb garden! Take care. 🌺

Wow what a great tour. It was neat to see the raised bed area and the trees you planted. Ugh sorry the garlic didn’t come completely up and the plants took a beating from the wind. All the challenges living on the prairie. I am so looking forward to the growth you have this year as always. 50 ft of carrots etc? Whoa

Thanks Lisa! I always get a little anxious this time of year hoping that I have planned enough veggies growing to fill all of the boxes each week all summer long. Then Glen always gives me the same advice. Plan backwards from what I need total all summer and plant until I can make that happen. 😂 Doesn’t stop the anxiety. It’s my tiny farm. 😆 Take care friend! 🌺 *it is currently pouring rain outside. 🙌♥️🙏

Where did you purchase the fabric to cover the cabbage? And how long is the pvc pipe? Is it mounted on rebar? I’m trying cabbage again this year and I need to find a way to cover them. Your garden is looking great!
@TheCowEmporium6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! We buy our garden fabric cloth at a farm store in Cranbrook, BC but you can order it from T and T seeds. Our fabric is 50 feet long and 6 feet wide. The white pex line is 1/2” and we cut it at 4 feet which works perfect for the six foot fabric. It is mounted on rebar that is 1/2” cut to one foot. This fabric is good for frost down to -4 I think. The birds eventually peck at bugs on the fabric and put holes in it near the end of the season. Mostly we are trying to keep the cabbage moths out. Some years it works better than others but it is worth a try! Take care! 🌺
