Thank you, as well as creating a garden we can enjoy and grow lots of our favourite plants, we try whenever possible to create places that encourage more wildlife The latest visitors are dragon flys! First time we have seen them this year

Hi, thanks for the video. Do you think the Tetrapanax at 2:00 is a normal or Rex form? I have a decent size Rex in a pot, non-Rex in the ground (sold as Rex). My one in the ground got cut back to the ground by cold when it got to about 6ft, which was sad (Bedford). Hoping my Rex might be tougher.

At 13:40: What is your plan as the Trachycarpus grows through the Paulownia? Mine aren't as big as yours but I have a similar spacing.
@montongardenАй бұрын
It didn’t seem that close at first as the original Paulownia snapped in two at about 3 metres up, the current tree is an off shoot and it’s much closer to the Trachycarpus It was probably planted too close to start so we will just let them work it out and grow into each other I don’t cut anything leaves off the Trachycarpus so it will always look very full of foliage

That’s a good question! I have 100% standard form and the plant you mention is very different, different enough to be Rex But I’m not sure yet, there’s so much variation amongst each form of these plants It’s harder than my 100% standard form and has more going on with the leaves I also have a 100% Rex, seed is from plants that came from the original Rex imported my Mulu nurseries back in the 90’s I’ll have a few more in the ground in spring, including Empress, so I should be able to see marked differences next year I did a video a few weeks back where I looked at the differences in these plants in my garden

My Schefflera delavayi is a bit smaller than that, can i leave it in the ground do you think im in leicester 😊
@montongardenАй бұрын
Is it in a pot now or already planted?
@djjluvvАй бұрын
@@montongarden i planted it out about 3 months ago
@montongardenАй бұрын
@@djjluvv If it’s planted out now I would leave it, Schefflera don’t like disturbance I always aim to plant out when they have a minimum of 15” of woody stem in spring

It will be coming out soon! Not because it’s a runner, just to create another plant
