Your yard is stunning! All that work you put in the past few days has paid off. The side yard is clean. The espalier looks great. The tulips are really pretty. I live in Southern California and my patio is very muddy. In between storms I’m digging out old, ugly stacked concrete stones to make my patio flat and eliminate those ugly borders.

Hi! Do you by chance have an unheated garage or shed? You can plant tulips in a container in late Fall, water it once, and then leave in unheated space until they start to poke up in early spring and then place outside once temps are above 40s ish.
@barbaramccann794411 ай бұрын
@@JulesFahey I do, and have tried that, but found it’s not worth my effort. Instead I enjoy the show of daffodils, deer leave them alone.

What a beautiful show of tulips to greet the drivers passing by - they look just beautiful. Everything is coming together so nice. As you mention the plants that you love, I google them hoping they are tolerant here - not all can be grown here (MI) but I am researching as you speak. The plans drawn up by your friend look interesting - any further videos on design would be great.

Spring is there! Looks fabulous! The back area which you’re not sure what you want to do could you remove the short side fence that frames the garden and extend it the shed? This would give you more room across the back for raised beds for veggies or flowers. 🌼🐝

From someone who has tree roses up and down our fence, we made a huge mistake by not planting at least 5 feet away from it. They grow pretty fast in my area, and even planting them by themselves, the branches spread out about 3 to 5 feet. It's better to transplant while little, than to wait until the roots are established and risk the chance of it dying. The trunks can get pretty big also here in CA. I enjoy your gardening videos daily. 😊

Love seeing all the beautiful spring color! We're just starting to see spring color in the PNW. Your new backyard entry walk way is fabulous. So interesting that your tulips are shorter in your window boxes in California. Linda Vater’s recent KZbin video (Oklahoma) showed the tulips planted in her front south facing window boxes were also very short and not the full color show she wanted. Curious why planting tulips in window boxes would cause them to be shorter.

It will be really nice when you get the new fence done. It’s so important to have the bones of your space to be in place. It’s really going to pull everything together! Love the black color too. Annuals always pop against a black backdrop! And I’m loving the garden tour! I was noticing how good you are at creating different little spaces or rooms throughout your garden. You have a decent sized backyard, but it’s not THAT big! But you would never even notice because as I watch your garden tour, it looks like the biggest space ever because of all of the different little areas throughout
