Your wood chip "mould" is actually mycelium. It's natural & party of three decomposition. Wood chip is breaking down & the mycelium is what grows & feeds off it. You won't see it on the top so much. It's just a mushroom basically. It's very important for the eco system . Trees grow buy using mycelium. It's not powdery mildew as someone else suggested. That will only grow in a living plant. There was a great Gardeners World programme that was about how trees use mycelium to talk to each other!
@jaimemorgan53232 жыл бұрын
I agree - most likely the white stuff is good mycelium...particularly if you've disturbed the bark at all, bringing pieces from underneath where it's warmer, to the surface. On another note, Hydrangea Annabelle is a mophead variety (big, round flower heads). She is beautiful, but not the paniculata variety that produces cone-shaped heads, like Limelight Hydrangea. Oh, and if you'd like more potted plants (or raised beds?), but are worried about the watering factor, you could consider drip irrigation on a timer; or a DIY olla (basically, porous pots submerged in the soil and topped up with water every now and again, which allow just enough water to leach into the surrounding soil as it dries).

"Pots need watering...we don't do that". This has to be the most relatable line I've heard about a garden.

I have friends in the UK and they get hello fresh for a few months cancel it, then when they come across a discount code starts it again. They said in two years they have been getting it on and off properly have only payed full price for 5 / 6 weeks. They find it great. Here in Ireland those type of things are a LOT more expensive than the UK. Loved this video. ❤️

Definitely let the garden grow with you guys over time! My mom’s a professional landscaper and literally just taught herself over the last 30 years how to garden and has now been featured in better homes and gardens more than once! She started with little beds of fruits and veggies when we were young and then eventually filled our entire 2.5 acre property with truly a wonderland of a garden. You will surely learn and make mistakes over time just as you have with the house… so trust your gut and go one baby plant at a time. :)

Morning Laura and Ollie thank you for the trip to London. Laura good luck with the wedding shoe shopping but to be honest you could turn up in flip flops and you will still look fabulous xxx Loving the garden what a change from last year. Oh and your control at not buying any plants at the garden centre my husband told me to take note😂😂😂. Have a lovely weekend xxxx

I had heels for the ceremony and then had pretty flip flops for everything after, we had a beach wedding and i didn't have a typical wedding dress so it worked haha

Annabelle Hydrangeas can be trimmed quite a bit in the spring, i trim mine to about 15cm so u might get rid of the powdery mildew. Don't wait too long though.

Thank you for sharing your trip into London. I can't believe it's May all ready. It's cool and rainy here in Pennsylvania. We do have the May flowers, but they are being battered by rain. This too shall pass. Enjoy your preparations for the big day. Best wishes to both of you!

Agreed re Harriet Wilde shoes being the most comfortable around, I found mine on sale on their site down to £50 from £250! White satin peep toe platforms. Wore them from 2pm until 9pm and my feet did hurt a bit but when I changed to a sparkly block heel platform from michael kors those felt a lot more uncomfortable.

Is the American brand Loeffler Randall lol I wanted those originally but given my shoes were not visible under my dress I went with a cheaper option instead. Hope you can get the ones you like!

Today I watched a well known gardener’s vlog on gardens for busy people. She advised to plant low maintenance flowering bushes instead of flowering annuals or perennials.

💕YOU NEED a Drip feed watering system on a timer💕Since my brother fitted one around the garden going into all the pots nothing has died even the hanging baskets are on this system💕Better than cutting the grass💕

The problem with hello fresh and all the other meal kits is the damn freezer packs. You can’t keep hundreds of them in your freezer, but they’re also not easy to recycle despite what the companies claim. So you’re stuck just throwing them in the trash. It’s so wasteful :(
@mouse72x2 жыл бұрын
A lot of supermarkets have started collection bins for soft plastic recycling which you can put the empty packs in now - obviously still not as great as no freezer packs but better than the bin
