Rosemary Gladstar is another herbalist who has good books. Melissa K Norris is someone I also watch. There is another book I use Mountain States Medicinal Plants: Identify, Harvest, and Use 100 Wild Herbs for Health and Wellness by by Briana Wiles. She has different books on different regions and it is very helpful. I am planning on getting them all because you can source a lot of herbs from other regions online and she has some great remedies in her books.

my grandmother (born 1914 - I am 65 now) relied on herbs and plants from her local hills in Alsace to help their family especially during world war 2. My eldest daughters pediatrician (she is now 34) would ask what my grandmother did for different ailments bc he said that many old syrups etc. were being found to work. Every summer, when my grandmother came to the states, we would shop at to the European apothecary that carried dried herbs and plants for healing for her medicine cabinet. One of my favorite memories was walking through the Alsatian mountains (hills) and my grandmother would point out plants and tell me what to look for and how to use them.

Lovely to see you making rosemary tincture. Never thought about doing this for culinary purposes. My mom studied herbal medicine and makes her own tinctures (alcohol based, not for cooking). She also got her certification for Bach flower remedies, and studied Tibetan medicine for a while. Some tinctures don't do anything for me, but some have really helped me. Always consult a doctor when you experience some serious health issues though!

I make tinctures all the time. So easy and rewarding! We often forget that most drugs originated from plants, that we have since figured out to synthesize in the lab. With drugs though, they just take the main active compounds, but in reality the plants have so many other chemicals that work synergistically to have health benefits.

I watch you everyday, I don’t use regular TV but I won’t miss a day of your videos! I agree with the others more natural remedies from plants would be amazing! I always look for Russell & Douglas to make their appearance in most videos 🐈 I’d love to see more chicken videos of your coop and anything chicken related! You’ve inspired me to get my first greenhouse and grow my own food! much love from California! 🫶🏽💕

another awesome, informative and inspirational video. we will all be looking for those tincture recipes now - and wow - I didn't know ACV came in different flavors (honey cayanne) - that'll be one tasty potent tincture !!! But mostly, I'm so proud of you, Laura, for using the BIG knife - hahahaha !!!!! thanks, as always, for sharing this video with us.

Love this video! Kudos to your mom for using natural ways of healing. I’m with you, Laura, I don’t like taking any over the counter or pharmaceuticals. I’ve learned firsthand how beneficial natural remedies are without the awful side effects. I love your channel & this video just levelled up my respect for you & your family! Keep up the great content!!

My grandmother used to tell stories of the various "home remedies" that were used and I always found it fascinating.

Would love to see more videos about tinctures, salves and balms. The other one you showed us was great as well. It would be great to know what we have growing in our garden that could help us in different ways. Also can’t wait to see what you decide for those pots. They’re amazing and I’m sure they’ll be spectacular!

I love your videos because you are versatile in so many things. You never know what subject you will bring us on any specific day. And, you always include the cats in your videos, and how they help around your home and yard.

Omg! The tincture! I'm so into that! I'm right with you on staying away from pharmaceuticals if possible. I've always believed, if God put us here, He also provided everything we need.

Thank you Laura for the disclaimers, not to take away from modern medicine, rosemary is wonderful for so many things . My culture thrives on herbs and often we hand down many older recipes on tried and true remedies. Love this plz more
