Thank you for your great videos! My family normally has a big Thanksgiving dinner and we also love to celebrate and decorate for Christmas. This holiday season has started out rough for us. My brother’s home and garage burned to the ground. Then my 90 year old mom had complications after hip replacement surgery and I have been her 24 hour caregiver after my sister suddenly could not help when her husband fell and broke bones. I took my mother to the ER two times due to severe pain and she got admitted to the hospital for a fractured vertebra and bowel paralysis due to medication. She is still there. Now my husband tested positive for Covid and our little boy started feeling very sick today. All of these things and more that I have not mentioned have put a damper on our celebrating this year. Health issues can really get in the way of a good time! I want to thank you for your videos that show the fun and merriment you have with your entire family while shopping, dining, and making holiday treats, as well as your decorating. When I watch your videos about these things it makes me so happy that all of you are doing the things that my family and I love and it helps me escape for a while the challenges that we currently have here. Thank you for your cheerful videos, for sharing precious moments with your family, and the beauty you produce through gardening and decorating. It has given me smiles that I otherwise would not have had this year. What a gift! 🙂❤️

Hi Laura, the “Feather Acacia” is a species of wattle called “Cootamundra wattle” (Acacia Baileyana). It’s native to my area in New South Wales (I live about half an hour from the town of Cootamundra). When it is in full flower in winter, it’s the most stunning tree. Thanks for all that you do and love from Australia 🇦🇺 your pots look brilliant. ❤️

You have no idea what a Christmas gift it is that you admit that you spent energy and hard-earned funds on something you don't care for (THE LIGHTS). You ARE human. I recently had a FAIL and felt pretty worthless as there wasn't much to do to rectify this gardening/decorating disaster. And I don't mean to say that misery loves company, but it's good to know that even folks with your artistry and design chops take a wrong turn every once in a while. Thanks for your honesty.

The 'feather acacia' is actually Acacia ‘Purple Cootamundra Wattle’. It is one of my favourite native Australian trees, and VERY popular (and quite famous!) The last month of Winter, it's covered in bright yellow pompoms, and provides a wonderful boost in those dark, grey days. Wattle is the herald of Spring here.💛 After flowering, it puts on all its new growth, which is a lovely purple!💜 Being Australian, it's a dry climate evergreen, and would probably grow well in your area! 💚💚💚

Arrangements are gorgeous. I have a bunch of plain branches I was going to spray paint white to do some arrangements but I think I'll paint them red. I'm glad you're going to keep those plants and put them in your landscape so you can harvest them each year for arrangements. That's what I would do out in the new property. I would plant a lot of things that you can harvest for your winter pot arrangements. And I agree with not having the lights on the Hartley. The fact that you can see through the Hartley and see all the lights around it is beautiful and the tree in the Hartley will be absolutely stunning. Can't wait for the Grand tour!

I agree with the lights on the Hartley, I think with the lights reflecting off the glass makes it way to bright and you wouldn’t be able to see a tree inside.
