I live in Texas right out side of Fort Worth. 109 the last couple of days with high humidity. I really need things to grow and thrive! Thank you for showing that things besides humans can grow in such harsh environments! 4 years go I found your channel with zero plants outside. Now we have a beautiful living space because you gave me the confidence to grow again. I was raised in a Floral shop in Pampa Texas 60 years ago. And lost the ability to love what I was trying to grow when I started my own place to grow. You have touched so many lives both young and old. Thank you for sharing your sweet family and love of growing all things, even broken hearts who happen upon your channel! Much love and Good vibes to you and your family.

Hi Cherri. I live here in Dallas on the southeast side. These high 103-109 temps in July have taken a major toll now on my plants and St. Augustine lawns. You know August is our Hottest month so I fear what that brings. We need Rain and Lots of It. I just Love Laura and her Stunning gardens. I’ve been watching for 2 almost 3 years and never miss her videos. Wealth of knowledge from her. Time for another Thrifting Spree with her Mom.

Just keep in mind that it’s not humid where Laura lives so it may get hot but plants can still breathe. I’m in GA and we don’t get up into 100’s but the humidity is what makes it tough on plants

I had to chuckle when Laura said, "When I come across this variety again," she would buy extra of it. You'd think that Proven Winners would send her that plant immediately! Her edging around all the beds is immaculate. I'm experiencing that gardening is a fun process, and I am already planning for what changes I need to make this fall. I have been at gardening only since I started watching GA a year ago. It makes me so happy when I am out in my flower beds and I get compliments from people all the time. I've learned so much of it from Laura! Thank you...

Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing perennials at first year planting and then more established plants (2-4) seasons later! That gives me SUCH encouragement as I look at many of these same perennials I’ve planted this past year! Love videos like this…and maybe it should have been top 15-20, and not 10! Lol!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hi Laura, I'm in the heartland zone 6b. The temps have been high with humidity fairly high. It's been darn right unbearable. Right now at 7:53 am it's 82 degrees with 65% humidity & no breeze. Todays high is 106 with high humidity. It's been over 100 for some time now. Plants are suffering, I'm suffering, tomato plants have stopped setting, flowers are droopy no matter how much water they receive. I'm old & it's hard work. No rain in forever. The dog doesn't even want to go out..Dog days of summer! I start work outside early for 20 min. & come inside to cool off for half an hour. Then back at it. I have over 5+ acres I garden by myself. Hubby does not appreciate gardening what so ever! I so appreciate you and everything you do. Breath of fresh air you are, we obviously all enjoy watching you & your family while learning. Thank you.

Thank you, Laura, for the tour of your gardens showcasing what flowers & colour combinations look great together! I’m up near Niagara Falls Canada & a lot of what you have planted grows well here too. I’ve never seen those nodding clematis before, so beautiful. I have typically stayed away from the newer varieties of echinaceas as I wasn’t sure that pollinators or birds would be attracted to them. Appreciate your video showing the pollinators covering them! I leave mine up, so the birds can forage their seeds in winter.

This was really sweet for me. I had to put to sleep my 16yr old kitty Lily on Wednesday. She was my sweet baby girl and I miss her so much. We ended up burying her in our backyard near our little arbor and our small vegetable garden. She’s in a sunny spot which she loved. I went to the garden centre and put a daylily called entrapment. The lady that served me was really nice and gave me one with buds and yesterday it started blooming. It melted my heart. Your video really helped me and it was like a sign she’s ok. Thank you so much Laura and everyone. You’ve taught me so much on how to garden and your sweet tone helps on days like this.

Hi Laura, thanks for the tour! I have a cottage perennial garden (zone 6 in Massachusetts) that is half shade, half sun, and it’s always a challenge to find plants that will bloom at different times in the season. I also have a bunny problem. They love echinacea and yarrow… super bummer. Two questions: 1. Do you do anything with the seed pods that day lilies produce? My mom taught me to pull them off the plant and toss them on the ground in hopes they’ll dry, open, and spread their seeds, but I never truly believed that it works! 2. Could you do a similar video for shade perennials (hopefully some that add more color to the garden)? Thanks for being the start to my day every day!

Hi! Great video. Gotta love a workhorse of a perennial. My Mom was an avid gardener. She used to say the same thing you said. "I need a tape measure to see how things are growing." One day while at a yard sale she bought two things. A yard stick and a tennis ball. She was so excited when we got in the car. I said what on earth are you going to do with that? She said youll see. She took the tennis ball and cut a slit in it to fit over the top of the yard stick. She used it in the garden as she walked around and had an easy measuring tool that doubled as a walking stick. 40 years later I use it one in my garden too. It's great!

I loved it, of course. You said “can you imagine”… well, I can but I’m hoping for a garden tour soon so I can see if my imagination matches your reality! lol 😆 Also, you mentioned the other day about that open spot by the echinacea and the alliums.. I think you said “maybe another allium in there” (I’m using quotations but I do not remember if those were your exact words! ). That pretty rudbeckia behind that lavender by the chicken coop would be a good one for this list too. I don’t remember the name of that one but that green eye makes that plant stunning! Thank you Laura for sharing with us! 😊♥️ Stay cool girlfriend!

Well you taught me something new today Laura. I've had this flower in the garden that I never could figure out what it was but the bees love it. My plant app says it's oregano and I said ' no ' what a stupid app 🤣. Well, I'm wrong, the app is correct because your video shows the exact same plant as mine!! New gardener and still learning 😊. I'm so happy to know I have an ornamental oregano plant. Thanks for your knowledge.
