Hi Heidi, I especially loved Gomphrena truffula pink this year. Just magical the way it sits atop a planter and lightly spreads throughout. Loved it! It was my first year with it. It’s funny how you can pass by different plants year after year, never thinking much of them and then all of a sudden you notice a particular plant in a different way and it becomes a new favorite. Happy New Year!

You got that right. And I think when you use it in different applications you can favor it more as well.

This was very fun to see in winter, thank you. I also love seeing your container combos. I go back and watch them in winter for some color. Fwiw I like Jazzberry more than Bubble gum, and now that I know how Jazzberry performs I will be buying more of that. Plus the color goes better with autumn colors than bubblegum, so I can leave it until November. I couldn't find any Bordeaux last year, and that and Latte are my favorite supertunias.

I personally like Jazzberry just a touch better as well. I think I may be Bubblegumed out.

Thank you for all the information! I love the top 23! My favorite annual is salvia rockin playin in the blues…I live in Michigan have an issue growing coneflower's which I was not aware it was a native plant.

Coneflowers like to be in well drained soil. Maybe try Magnus or Ruby Giant to start, they are the easiest I think.

Thanks for the fun video to watch in the winter while we’re planning our gardens! Tater Tot is absolutely one of my favorites, as is Lemon Coral Sedum. Both of these are sprinkled throughout my garden. I did want to introduce some peach tones into the garden, so I planted some of the Echinacea Cantaloupe Supreme this past year. They were fabulous! Loved the structure of the blooms and the color was exactly what I was looking for.

One of my favorite annuals from the past 2 seasons has been the Chocolate Drop coleus. I love using it as a ground cover. It fills in quickly and winds all around the other plants. Also easy to propagate and make more plants. Thanks for this video. Great information!

Great video Heidi. I'm surprised that geraniums didn't make your list. I think geraniums with diamond frost euphorbia in a terra cotta pot is classic and always a great performer in my area. I also love the playing the blues salvia, and the midnight sun weigela is on my wish list for this year.

I do like geraniums but they are not a huge seller for us. I think people can find them locally and dont need to look online.

I thought you would feature your Alstromeria that you include in your garden tours and has always been sold out when I try to purchase. I'll be pre-ordering for the upcoming season. I purchased the magicballs two seasons ago. They were very small and turned brown the first winter. I thought they were dead but they came back to that gorgeous chartreuse color in spring. They are now brown again this winter but I know they will survive. Very slow grower but great in small gardens.

I wish I had the Inca Ice available to sell. That probably would be a very good seller. There has been a production issue with that plant from plug growers and it is no where to be found any more. That is so sad.

Hi Heidi .... I am interested in the Arctic Fire and was wondering about the size of the smaller plant that you have to offer ... ???
@gardencrossings11 ай бұрын
The smaller size is a 1 quart sized container. It is about 6-8" tall when it ships. We trim them every 2-3 weeks to promote branching before they ship.

Will Little Lime Punch change to pink in zone 8 even if nights don't get cooler? We have trouble with hydrangeas going straight to brown here.

Would love to do a Patriotic theme using Blue My Mind XL in a container. Michigan zone 6b & looking at annuals. What would you recommend to plant with it that’s red & white? Thank you!
@gardencrossings11 ай бұрын
If planting it with other things you will want to make sure they are drought tolerant plants. Royale Red Zone Lantana and maybe Diamond Frost or the new White Bidens Marshmallow.
