I found some of those glass blocks and had the best time with them. I drilled a hole large enough to poke a string of solar lights inside. They are so pretty. I made a couple for inside using regular tiny lights and put a bow on top like a gift. I love your yard!

The thick plastic and wood makes a great environment for slugs, snails and other predators to thrive. You will be better off using weed membrane so your plants cant breathe. If you do no dig, you don't have weeds. Huw Richards and Charles Dowding are great channels.

Should plant some flowers for the hummingbirds :3

for your tomato's green peppers stuff like that needs something to hold it up. instead of using the cages use the same chicken wire fence you used and just run it down the line of those kind of plants. that way the can clime how they want and get more sun instead of being like a bush where the center is not green there flatter and the whole plant grows. plus when time to weed once you know the food plant that comes out the ground everything not wanted gets torn out. for once i switched to doing it that way it gave me 25% to 50% more. so if i got 50 pounds of tomatoes i got 75 pounds to 100 pounds.

Grow mint in your garden or surround your plants with mint plants. Mint can be invasive and want to run away to other parts of the yard, but plants like mint and rosemary, lavender and chives, tend to keep slugs at bay. Whereas mint and lavender is freeze tolerant upto -20f, rosemary and chives may need some protection during winter months. Here are some organic ways to prevent slugs in your garden: Create habitats for predators Slugs have many predators, including birds, toads, frogs, beetles, and hedgehogs. You can encourage these predators by creating compost heaps, ponds, leaf piles, and log, stone, or brick piles. You can also plant shrubs and hedges to provide cover for birds and allow wild areas to develop in your garden. You can also bring in predators like chickens or ducks to help. Use cinnamon Sprinkle cinnamon around the base of your plants to deter slugs. The cinnamon will stick to the slugs and its strong scent will also keep them away. You should re-apply the cinnamon after it rains. Use diatomaceous earth This naturally occurring compound is made from the fossilized remains of aquatic organisms called diatoms. It's safe for humans and pets, but its microscopic sharp edges can cut through and dry out slugs. Sprinkle it in various spots after a light rain or in the morning when plants are still wet from dew. You should wear a mask and gardening gloves when applying it, and wait several days for the slugs to ingest it. Use crushed eggshells Slugs don't like crawling over sharp and jagged surfaces, so the rough texture of crushed eggshells can deter them. Use plants with strong fragrances Slugs dislike the smell of lavender. Use garlic spray Chop garlic and onion and put it in a spray bottle with water. Let it marinate for a few days, then strain the water and mix it with cayenne pepper and soap. Strain it again through a coffee filter or cloth napkin to keep it from clogging the nozzle. Hope this helps you Post.

Wonder if it helps doing a foot wide trench, and filling it with rocks, or even flooding it with water like a canal, would it stop slugs from crossing into the yard. Just along to outskirts of the yard. Being in a high water table, it’ll probably flood fast. Frogs might love it, they can probably even pick off slugs trying to cross. But not sure what the negative effects it would have in the yard doing that kinda project.
