I have had a similar past , My first grow documented here on youtube about 2 years ago .. I knew a lot already about biology because I used to build and maintain big aquariums , come to find out that the biology in a tank filter is very similar to the biology in soil , and also the biology in our gut , pretty insane ! I absolutely loved this episode , there is so many newcomers in this industry and so much old and new stuff to explore that it can be overwhelming for lots , but your channel makes it so easy to absorb , and trough your channel I found dr bruce and he is absolutely amazing when you like to get into it deep ! Great episode. I agree ..So many growers especially those who are new and novice act like organic is the only way to grow and synthetic grows an inferior medicine. Which is the farthest thing from the truth. My synthetic grows is just as good if not better than my organic side. Or they act like they are better than synthetic growers. I enjoy growing in all styles.

Higher tempetures will lower your humidity and you wont need the dehumidifier as much. Plus Powdery mildew tends not to grow at higher temperatures. At least when using LEDs so you want the higher leaf temperature. While hid would emit more inferred light heat. 83 F for led. Something like 75F for HPS.

PH will swing when the plant is eating, it will also change when the lights are on or off. When water drops and the ppm rise, that means you are over feeding. Overfeeding will also lead to swings in ph. Also leaving not enough space below the netpot will also lead to spikes in ppm and ph. That is pretty much all I have learned after 10 months of dwc. Water Temperature will also lead to swings in ph and ppm. Root rot will increase ppm.

Perfect runs do happen with years of growing you'll know when it happens. When I had 12 OMMP patients and 2 flower rooms with 12k double ended HPS 5 ton ac units and all deep water culture undercurrent system it took me 3 runs of mediocre runs before I obtained 30lbs. off 1 room with blue dream. It was a perfect run everything was clicking no bugs no issues root side or plant side. I had branches snapping under the stress of their own weight it was amazing the colas above the 2 layer scrog were so heavy they started snapping. Any 1 issue in any run will effect end result always.

This was an awesome episode to see. I'm new at this new wave indoor thing. I used to be very physically able but unfortunately developed ppms. Few years now. I noticed when I started there was this level of stress and thinking that was really a waste of time for me. I was a local coach for a long time and it's kind of like everyone has to go through the white belt stage. Your show has been a huge help to my learning. Thank you. Pigeons and Rob too. From the stash is the s***
@robo85232 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking the other day that gardening this beautiful plant is similar to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. The belt system isn't like karate. It takes most people close to 2 years or more to go from a white belt to a blue belt. 10 years or more to become a black belt. I think the time span is pretty fitting when it comes to getting good at this also.

I’m a beginner gardener but I came across a product called Octopot. It takes the guesswork out of knowing when to water plants and Saves you time. Coco works great in them and soil works too, Just make sure to add in the proper amount of perlite. Also Ac infinity has the self watering base for cloth pots.

I use the H3ad method with GH in Coco and it's the cheapest for me with best results. Organic living soil costs me alot to have amendments shipped or drive 2 hours to buy them. I'd love to stay Organic though. Still use recharge and worm castings from my red wiggler worm bin.

all good. after years of growing i went from red solos fo my seedlings to ice drink bottles with the top chopped off. can put a couple cuts in the top and use the bottle top as a lil gree house dome. am just too cheap to keep buying red solos.

@seankraus52462 жыл бұрын
@@cancersilentkiller I like the ice bottles cuz they are smooth, gatoraid bottles and such are too shaply and the dirt pug catches during transplant. for cloning i use old fast food cups, they are food safe, large and often come with an order. I use to use plugs, then hrdrocloner and a dyi hydro bucket. anymore i just put the cuttings in water. after a day i will dirt then, if not i will cange the water every 3-4 days and after acouple weeks they just root anyways. i always brute force it with numbers tho, 10 cutting get dirted, only first five to root get up potted to quarter gals, then usuly only the best one makes it to the five gal on up stage. that whay i always am running the best clone i can for my size. propagation is cheap compaired to the rest of the grow. also led braun shop lights do great for veg if you are in a budget. just keep plants under 3 foot and the unders trimmed up. idk but each to thier own

Tip when it comes to small clip oscillating fans. Have double than what you need. Run 1 or 2 12 hours and have the other 1 or 2 taking a break. These lil fans need a break and will increase the lifespan exponentially..

Been growing with synthetics for 7 years after a failed attempt with organics. Coco coir has always been my go to. The ease of hydro with the terps of soil. Just purchased everything to give organics another try and get some living soil going. How often are compost teas reccomended? Was planning on giving a tea every other week aside from a topdress in week 1 and 3 of flower
@bjdastar192 жыл бұрын
You have to do big 30 Gal pots or bigger if you go organic in 5 Gal pots you have to make sure your not chasing your tail and giving your plants what it needs 5 Gal soil can’t sustain a plant so you have to too dress and Teas to over compensate
@297exotics2 жыл бұрын
@@bjdastar19 i will do 30 gal pots or beds in the future. Wasnt up to invest in so much soil and stuff since its just try outs and if i like my results ill reuse my soil and get some beds going. Im now in 7gal pots. Planning on top dressing every 3 weeks and doing a compost tea every 2 weeks. Should i be doing weekly compost teas instead to compensate for my potsize?
@bjdastar192 жыл бұрын
@@297exotics the pots you have are just fine but if you want more leisure and less work for yourself then bigger is always better. But you definitely on the right track . But if you want to give your plant readily available food then teas are the way to go especially if you notice malnourishment. Depending on what stage you on brewing a tea for the stage that’s the plant is in like a veg tea & bloom tea

My mars hydro fc8000 roughly 20-24in away from canopy during flower). So how come ANY time i see a commercial grow, the lights are mounted on the ceiling, like 20ft away from the plants? Is there something im missing here?
